DIshes involving corvina have been consistently delicious as is true of most seafood on the menu. Steaks are also very well-prepared. The ambience is quite lovely, very comfortable and emblematic of old, monied Quito. The dessert cart is charming and contains some really delicious choices. Avoid ordering duck which is almost always overcooked. The dining room staff is obliging to a point and does not really seem to care if a diner is unsatisfied with a dish. We have eaten there about 10 times in the past year but will now probably not return due to the inconsistencies in preparation and staff indifference. On our last two visits, members of our group ordered duck with very poor results. The staff is also untutored when it comes to wine and thinks that 5 year old Chilean sauvignon blanc is acceptable rather than over the hill. The complimentary entrada is usually greasy and unpalatable.
