Great range of food including veggie options. a warning all the menu is in Spanish but our daughter is fluent so that was OK. They offered an English speaking waiter if we wanted. Lovely cocktails too

We enjoy Zao whenever we want a special treat. The food is dependably good, the selection is impressive, and the service is friendly. We also enjoy the free birthday appetizer, dinner, and dessert every year!

Good place for dinner. Walk into Zao and you would never know you were in Quito. Very trendy with waterfalls and fire pits. It works well. The food is described as Asian fusion and is very good. The service is friendly and worth a visit wehn in Quito. Just down from the JW Marriott so within walking distance.

Cuisine: Asian fusion; Japanese, Chinese and some Thai.
Location: You will find it in a trendy part of town, surrounded by fire pits and small waterfalls. Parking is available on-site. The decor sets a very enjoyable and chilled ambience for dinner. The Chinese terracotta warrior is quite impressive.
Pros: The Japanese rolls were great. I had a Kimono roll that was excellent. The wine menu they have to offer is very good, complemented by an outstanding service. The waiter could have left the soy bottle at the table, though.
Cons: The Chinese-based food was OK. There are local Chinese restaurants (chifas) that offer about the same food for half the price. My friend had a Kung Pao that had nothing really extraordinary.
Will most likely come back.

I love Asian food and this restaurant manages to combine Japanese, Chinese, Thai and others to create a very good menu. The dishes we had were faultless and it was not expensive bearing in mind the quality. I wish I had this kind of restaurant in my home city! Very good indeed, well worth trying but do book because it is very popular.
