We received nothing but 5-star service in this colorful and lively inn. The luxurious down comforter, alone, made us feel like Queens! We had taxis ordered, tour recommendations, and restaurant recommendations better than most top hotels offer. Breakfast was filling and delightfully shared with several other guests. On our last night, the neighbor was celebrating with a loud party. Jenny would not let us ruin a peaceful sleep and moved us to another quiet section of the house even if this meant additional sheets and cleaning. We woke up fitfully and were ready to travel on in our pre-arranged taxi. Don't pass up on this place!

Room Tip: We liked the white room, tucked in the corner but bright because of the skylight.

I'm originally from Ecuador and my wife from Canada. We stayed for about a week there and we felt like we were at home around our family. Jenny (owner and manager) is very friendly, loving, helpful and hospitable. The breakfast are healthy and helped us to stay good for at least the whole morning. Wifi works great everywhere in the house. Location is close to the main and attractive places in Quito, two blocks from la America ave. you can take a taxi or bus to any place.
Totally recommend to stay here!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. Our room was very large, with en suite. The house itself, is set within a bolted, highly secure gate and only a $1-2 cab ride from old-town/ $25-27 to the airport.

Bed was comfortable, bedding warm and cosy, small but powerful electric heater, hot powerful shower, unlimited hot drinks (which you'll appreciate when in from the cold) and a filling, hearty breakfast.

Our host couldn't do enough to help - be it book tours, cabs...get us to the Changing of the Guards to witness the Presidents visit in time...you name it.

Lovely, colourful, safe little home set a little out of central. My only quip, was we thought it a little expensive versus typical Ecuadorian accommodation rates. But for the hospitality alone, it was probably worth it.

Mom and I stayed at Casa Amarilla about a week ago for one night. The house is really lovely - just has wonderfully colorful and ecclectic decor, that brings you a sense of joy. What adds to that is the warm and lovely hostess, Jenny, who treats you like a member of family. Staying at Casa Amarilla really does feel like staying with a family. We were there for only one night and one day, so we went to Mariscal and Teleferico, both just a few minutes away by taxi ride. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, and breakfast was nice. Overall we had a wonderful stay, and would definitely consider staying again. When we were staying there, almost all the remaining rooms were taken by either single female travelers (some had been staying for weeks for work or other local programs), or couples - so i would say this is a great place to stay if you are a female solo traveler.

I can highly recommend this place. Full of color, hospitality and joy. Rooms are small and basic but colorful and clean. Breakfast is typical for Ecuador and is served at one large table. So all guests have to share breakfast in the morning which is a great communication hub.
Jenny is a great communicator and always pleased to arrange any travel issues. Mi casa es tu casa...
The area Las Casas is safe and more or less quiet for Quito's conditions. I would definitely return.

This very welcoming B&B is like staying at a friend, or with family. And then all the tips and advice you get. We experienced some great placed because of that. So very helpful.
Thank you, Jenny.
It is located in a quite residential area, which makes it safer (although we did not feel unsafe anywhere in Quito or Ecuador), but it is 5 - 10 mins. walking distance to the bus - but the transportation system is great. Just quite full at times.

My significant other and I spent 2 nights at La Casa Amarilla in the middle of September. This B&B is located within easy walking distance of the bus lines, as well as there are taxis everywhere in the area. The house itself is wonderfully decorated, with each room being so amazingly individual. We had the purple bedroom. But the best part of the our whole stay there, however, was the hostess, Jenny. She was so helpful in providing us with suggestions of things to do and places to see on what turned out to be a too short of stay in Quito. Jenny also provided us with suggestions of places to stay and things to do in other parts of the country to which we would be traveling, as well as helping us with our Spanish. We had a great place to sleep, wonderful conversation, a little worry on her part when we didn't come back to the house until late one night, a really good but simple breakfast, and essentially a personal travel guide. You simply can't go wrong by staying with Jenny at La Casa Amarilla; you won't be disappointed.
