“Elegance in Ecuador”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

This hotel, situated in the old part of the city, has been beautifully restored and is a lovely place to stay. The staff are all helpful and friendly ( when the breakfast waiter insists that you treat the place as your home you know he means it). While you cant get a car to the door, the walk is very short and the staff help with your cases. The food is good, the bedrooms comfortable and the bed is the biggest we have ever slept in at over 7 feet wide. Easy walking to all the places you want to visit in the old city. Would recommend this without hesitation.

Perfect place to explore the old city. As it is located in a pedestrian street, you can park your car in the nearby parking La Ronda. The hotel personnel has no problem bringing your luggage back to the car. The La Ronda area in Quito is now a very safe place with tourist police at every street corner. No problem walking around in the evening to get to a restaurant. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are all alike (most of them have large twin beds). The staff is extremely helpful and they have a good restaurant.

Lovely convenient hotel in the old town within walking distance of the main sights, with excellent facilities and friendly helpful staff. Stylish rooms, with comfortable beds and good quality bathrooms. Nice breakfast and food and drinks available throughout the day. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We had two different rooms as stayed there at the beginning and end of our trip, both were lovely an...

Enjoyed my stay at this comfortable hotel with easy access to the old city. The restaurant serves delicious meals and breakfast is quite good. It is difficult to access by car and so you may need to walk a short distance with your luggage. All in all, a gentle introduction to the old city. Service is fine. My room faced the interior and so I assume I was spared street noise.

From the huge front door up into the old courtyard and onwards into huge comfortable rooms this
hotel has a fantastic feel and has been beautifully crafted out of the 400 year old original building.
It is situated a mere 5 minute stroll from the centre of old Quito in a restored area that abounds with
cafes and restaurants and is vibrant and alive in the evenings.
Excellent staff, comfortable beds, great bathroom and toiletries and the inner facing rooms are not disturbed by the bustle outside.
Getting their at the weekends can be a hastle as festivals mean closed roads in old town and be prepared for an aiport transfer of between 47 mins(6.00am Sun) & 2 hrs 15 mins(3.30pm Fri)

Room Tip: Inward courtyard facing rooms are quieter

I have stayed in rooms smaller than the bed here, it was a full double-double 9' (2.7m) wide. Room was huge and well apointed with setee, desk etc. Easy and safe walking distance of the centre of the old town, but you dont need to go out as the hotel resturant is fantastice value (I had the best steak that I have had for a long time, perfectly cooked). Helpfull staff.

Great location in Quito's historic center.

Very upscale hotel with many luxury appointments. Located in a high pedestrian traffic area. The street can be very noisy at night and on weekends.

Excellent service, great rooms with full service baths. Nice restaurant. Middle of the road WiFi service.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from the street side for quieter sleep quality conditions.
