A lovely hotel set around a covered courtyard. Bedrooms a spacious and roomy and the facilities excellent. The staff speak good English and are very helpful. Do not miss the lounge area at the top of the hotel which has great views of Quito.
Breakfasts match the quality of the hotel.

Room Tip: On a week end make sure you get a room away from the street outside if you want a quiet night

This hotel is incredibly beautiful. It's a little hard to find - as you have to walk to the front door (not far from the main road but a bit of a walk with heavy bags!) - it's a car-less street (which is great!) They'll help you with your bags if you ask. I checked in on the last night of Quito's December festivities - the street was alive with music, people dancing - and a culture alive with celebration. I loved it. The rooms were beautiful - fantastic shower - and breakfast was AWESOME! It's in a fantastic location if you want to take a walking tour of old town. So glad I chose this place over a Western Hotel chain.

We stayed there 2 nights. Arriving at the peak of the festival. Entering from a crouded happy street into a peacefull patio which is the heart of the hotel. The staff was always wellcoming and smiling. The room was large and clean. I chose a room in the upper most floor facing the back so no noise from the street. The location is in the hearth of the old city. Taxi can not bring you to the door of the hotel but it is only a short walking. The only negative remark is that it is a little expensive to what you get in this part of the globe and we did not have a breakfast included.

We stayed just one night here whilst in transit to the cloud forest. The hotel is centrally placed and it is very easy to walk out into Quito for a quick tourist photo or meal. The hotel is well designed and our room was very comfortable with a good shower. We left too early to enjoy the breakfast but it looked good with fruits coffee and cooked etc

Don't know how anyone can say this hotel is average! It's not, it's first class. Great staff who are helpful and courteous. Excellent food (their potato soup is wonderful). Great location right on La Ronda. We were there during festival and street was alive with street artists, performers, families. Made sleeping difficult in early hours but that would ave been same anywhere in locality. Views from our room was good also.
We will be returning.

Room Tip: Better to choose a rear room if you want sleep rather than atmosphere!

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of days in November 2013 and had a very good experience. The hotel was built during the colonial era and retains the architectural heritage. Rooms were very well kept and clean. We loved the big windows in the room. The hotel staff were very helpful, courteous in giving us direction to places, making local phone calls, calling for taxis.

The hotel also has a restaurant attached to it. The chef made us vegetarian soups for us even though they were not on the menu. They went out of their way to make us vegetarian dishes. The hotel is located in the historic district and is in walking distance to all the major architectural buildings in Quito. There is a chocolate shop next door where we were able to grab local Ecuadorian chocolates on the day we were leaving. Overall we had a amazing and excellent experience during our stay in de la Ronda

Room Tip: Choose a room in the higher floors to get a good city view.

We stayed here for one night in November 2013. It is a beautiful little boutique hotel, located in a cobbled street in the oldest part of Quito near restaurants and bars. It has a Spanish feel with a lot of atmosphere, large comfortable rooms with lovely views up over the hills, helpful staff and very good food. I wish we could have stayed longer.
