“Brilliant staff, friendly hostel”
Reviewed 15 May 2014 via mobile

This hostel is great, there really is a community feel with big, delicious group dinners and things like movie nights. The staff are helpful and friendly, as well as being very fun, and the walking tour is excellent. As everyone mentions, another bathroom would be good, but the ones there are are excellent and the beds are big and comfy!

The hostel was amazing including the staff :) had a great time playing games at night with everyone in the hostel, they also cooked food for everyone at night for 5$ for a good meal! if you just want to chill this is the place to go, they have a projector down stairs for movies witch is a good thing if you just wanna do nothing, once in a wile it's nice AND if you wanna have drinks and/or go out you can have some beers and wine upstairs play some games and go out with some staff from the hostel. staff was so helpful and nice. free walking tour as well. loved this place..... ohhhhh ya beds are soooo comfy and breakfast is great as well

When the taxi dropped me off in front of the hostel, I was a little worried. It was market day and there was garbage everywhere. But it only took 5 minutes to figure out that this is the best hostel in Quito. The staff is great, the food is amazing, bathrooms are great, and the private queen bed has comfy fitted sheets! The location is better than it looks from the window. It is on the outer edge of the historic center, and you can walk to any of the plazas and La Ronda! Also make sure to do the walking tour, Ovi does an amazing job and he is a great basketball player too!

The Commuity Hostel is very clean, tidy and the staff are very helpful. they offer meals each night for $5 which are mouth waveringly delicious! and the breakfast (US$2) will feed the hungriest person for many hours.

The staff are friendly and very helpful at letting you know what is happening and what to do.

Odo's free walking tour is a must do!

The fact that this is my first ever review I have bothered to write illustrates how amazing this hostel is. From the initial welcome from Marco the owner (so helpful and friendly) to the excellent facilities (awesome showers, complementary towels, filtered water, yummy breakfast and dinner), makes this one of the best hostels I have stayed at in the last eight months. GO AND STAY.

If we didn't have such a short time in ecuador, we'd have been happy to stay here much much longer. It was clean, charming, and the most perfectly friendly place we've found. Could not have asked for a better first stop on our travels. The food is incredible, especially the thai curry we had on our second night and it was only reluctantly that we used the (excellently stocked) kitchen to cook for ourselves instead of eating here every morning and evening. It's super close to a supermarket and market for food, the bus stop which takes about 15 minutes to get to the new town, and about five minutes to a cashpoint, so really conveniently placed. Everyone who works here immediately treats you like a friend, and they all know pretty much everything there is to know about Quito and the rest of Ecuador so you're in good hands. Basically come and stay here. You will not regret it.

Room Tip: Wifi will work on the bottom bunks, but not on the top ones!
