It is amazing to me that an artist could make it his life's devotion to express the sorrows of man, not only in his country but throughout the world. This visit was my introduction to his work and while some may find it depressing at first once one understands his underlying cause is to inspire the need and his wish for peace in the world one day than your focus becomes more on his genius.
His home is on the same grounds and also contains a museum of his work both finished and unfinished in his studio. The house tour was in Spanish and at appointed times. When we were there it began at 2:15pm.
All in all a very moving experience.
