We stayed in a triple room at the Sebastian for 4 nights. The room itself was very spacious comfortable and clean, the bathroom too. The staff were very polite but not always succeded in being helpful.
The shower in our room was not working well and it took them 2 days to fix it, we were offered another room but it was much smaller and closer to the street. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the street and very noisy, hooting cars, sirens all sorts of loud noises from the street and from within the building(maybe the elevator) all night long.
The lobby is nice and gives the impression of a first rate hotel, The internet service is good and the laundry service too. A pity the slow service and noisy street spoiled some of our stay. The hotel really does have potential.

Room Tip: As far as you can from the street.

The beds were comfortable, and the people who work there were very kind. The breakfast that was included wasn't always the best as they didn't have enough help. The "gym" was some partially working equipment but did what I needed. The Business center was very well stocked and the computers worked well. Quito is a loud city so I can't say that all hotels aren't noisy but it was hard to sleep with all the street noise.

This is a hotel the prides itself on being historic. To us it was a little more tired than old. The carpet is worn to the threads. We only stayed for two nights (front and back end of our trip to the area). I would recommend something closer to the the La Ronda area.

Excellent service and friendly staff. The hotel is on a semi-busy street and it can be noisy at night, so bring ear plugs to help. There are are a variety of restaurants nearby, and a big park whether you walk north or south out of the hotel. The bellman at the front is very helpful with suggestions and directions.

Conveniently located, with just about everything a traveler needs--plenty of closet and cabinet space, plenty of hot water, TV, fitness center, business center, bar, restaurant. It's not super-new, but unless you're a rock star, do you really care?
