A beautiful decorated hotel in a safe close proximity to the happening plaza and access to the cross town bus system. It also has the benefit of being close to the numerous agencies organising Galapagos trips. A nice peaceful place after a long haul. The breakfasts were delicious but may only half fill you up. The team of staff were very nice and helped in anyway. Disappointed that my room which was sold as having a TV didn't, but it did have piping hot water.

The hotel was ok. Great location near Plaza Foch, the staff was friendly, breakfast was good and reasonably priced. They charged us quite a bit for an airport pickup, but were very prompt both getting us from and taking us to the airport. Also, our stay was marred by a complete water outage our last morning there.

All in all, hard to recommend or disrecommend.

We booked 2 room for 3 nights. Our first impression was unfortunately marred by the fact that we had asked them to provide transportation from the airport to the hotel, but they never showed up. We eventually called them from the airport, but by the time they arrived, we had wasted almost 2 hours waiting. And the never apologized. (They also charged us $95 for two taxis when the normal price is much less.) For that, I took off 1 out of 5 stars. The first room they gave us (#15) reeked of mold, so we asked for another room (#25) which was fine. I also took off another star because of the bathroom. The shower has no place to put soap or shampoo, except on the floor. it's a small point, but very annoying and so easy to fix on their part. What are they thinking? I took off a third star because, after we paid and checked out, they sent numerous harassing email messages saying that they gave us "too much change in return" and they want us to cough up another $200 to them. Are they serious? What an amateur operation.

Booked our first two nights in Ecuador here.. it turned out to be a bit expensive @ about $33 a person. there was a slight misunderstanding with the price and reservation upon arrival. we tried to cancel, hoping to go find a different cheaper hostel, but then the staff showed us a paper which stated the terms of cancellation, which they claimed was sent to us by email at the time of booking, but we definitely never received. so if you want to cancel just reember you have to do it in advance buy something like 3 days...

we ended up just staying there, which was a good choice, and the rooms are absolutely beautiful. central part of the new town, Mariscal Sucre.

wifi, hot showers, breakfast included

This is a really nice hotel, in a beautiful colorful building, but in my opinion highly over priced, and therefore over rated.

The hotel is excellently located in the La Mariscal part of the town, just a couple of blocks from Plaza Foch, the party and nightlife center of Quito. Even though it is so close, the street is actually very quiet (but do read my comment about the room and the noise below).

I stayed for a night in a single ensuite room for $42/night. The rooms are very clean, the bathrooms are excellent. The staff is very friendly and speak English (not a big issue for me, but probably for some travellers).

However, compared to some of the other hostels I stayed, and for less than half the price in the room and the bed was tiny. Another downside of that, although not a lot of noise from the streets, all the noise from the hotel itself comes into your room, through the walls.

The breakfast, for a place that calls itself a B&B was another downer. Just bread, butter and juice. Most other hostels I stayed in in Ecuador, which included breakfast had far better and filling options.

My opinion, skip this place. Plenty of really great options in quito where you get it all - rooms, service, friendly staff, great atmosphere etc.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not around the central garden. A lot of movement happens throughout the day t...

The loft at the casa sol was like a little secret hidden in busy Quito. The atmosphere in all of Casa Sol was great, welcoming helpful staff and the room felt like a little bit of heaven, complete with our own patio for our morning coffee. Oh and the bed! I would recommend anyone to stay.

Room Tip: Pick the loft. Quite and perfect

Really enjoyed this hotel. We stayed in several places during our trip in Ecuador and this was one of the best ones. Great location, great service and comfortable rooms. They aren't the most luxurious and the room was a little small, but otherwise it was a very positive experience.
