Clean, quiet, well furnished, conveniently located... Casa Joaquin had it all. The staff was friendly and very helpful accommodating an unexpectedly complicated schedule. After a long day of exploring Quito it was very nice to relax with a cold drink on the intimate roof terrace. Phew... writing this makes me wish I was still there!

I really loved this little hotel. It had several different areas in which to eat, drink, or relax. The bar was nice but I particularly liked the library area. It was very cozy and nicely decorated. My room was large with a sofa as well as a double bed. As others mentioned, the bed was a bit hard, but I slept well. The bathroom and shower were more than adequate. Everything appeared to be new and clean. All the desk receptionists were friendly and helpful but seemed a bit overworked in the mornings as they were also in charge of breakfast. The breakfast was nothing to write home about but at least it was included in the price of the stay. Unlimited coffee which made me happy. The Mariscal Sucre area is hopping but not the safest area. One must be particularly careful when going out at night.

Room Tip: I had a double room next to the street. I was told it might be noisy, but I had no problem sleeping...

This is a smallish boutique hotel in the centre of the Mariscal Sucre. My room was beautifully furnished, and although the bed was a little hard, the room was comfortable overall. Bathroom clean and well stocked with plenty of hot water. Friendly and helpful staff, and the included breakfast was good. My room faced the street, but there was minimal noise due to the double glazing. Location is both an advantage and disadvantage - close to all the bars and restaurants of this area, but this is also very dodgy at night, and I kind of wished I stayed in the Old Town for my first visit to Quito. Hotel has limited facilities, and the bar was generally closed when I was there (but this may be a good thing too!) Overall, if you wish to stay in this area, I would heartily recommend this hotel.

Thank you for your review.
Indeed we try to provide every confort possible like double glazed windows, egyptian cotton sheets, soft towels and ortopedic matrasses. They are not soft but garantee you a good night rest to recuperate after an exhausting visit to this amazing city.
I would nt recommend you staying at the old town because at night it is abandoned and you ll have to take a taxi to have diner or for going out.

The rooms was very comfortable, spacious and very nice decorated!!!
The breakfast was not st wow but it was nice and delicious.
The hotel is near to the centre and you can go anywhere in a walking distance.
But do not worry...you can't hear anything when you are sleeping!!!!!
We recommend it 100%

We stayed in Casa Joaquin before and after a trip to the Galapagos Islands for our honeymoon and really enjoyed our stay here.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The street it is based on is prehaps not the most scenic, but they have a rooftop terrace area for guests to use which gives you a fantastic dramatic view of the Quito skyline at night. The hotel is based very close Foch Square which is the main tourist area for bars and restaurants and we walked around the area at night and felt perfectly safe the guide books advise caution). There are corner shops on the end of the street which open late which were perfect when we needed any extra supplies.

The hotel and rooms themselves are stylishly decorated and very modern looking. The bathroom in particular was beautiful. We stayed in one of the rooms with a window to the street and didn't feel it was noisy at all (although I am a heavy sleeper!). Both rooms we stayed in had a safety box and there was wifi available.

We also stayed in the special apartment suite the second visit to the hotel which was amazing! It was bigger than our flat back home, with a kitchen, dining table, 2 beds and a sofa, again all very modern and stylish. The bed was huge and comfortable. It also had a little outside courtyard with floor to wall length window looking out on this. We were sad to leave it!

We thought the breakfast was the best of anywhere we stayed during our trip (about 6 different hotels), with a buffet of granola, cereal, yoghurt, cheese, meat, little Ecudaor cakes, fresh fruit, juices, coffee and eggs.

We wanted to thank you for a lovely stay and a memorable honeymoon. If we are ever back in Quito we will be booking Casa Joaquin!

Room Tip: If you are going for a special trip, the apartment is fantastic. We also stayed in room 31, windo...

I am very pleased you had a wonderful honeymoon and enjoyed your stay with us.
The hotel is situated in the most centric place, easy to visit the town and nearby restaurants, bar and shops. With double glazed windows we prevent that once inside the urban noise disturbs you in a well earned night rest.
warm regards,
Dirk

Comfortable, clean rooms with quality linens and fine towels. "Rainfall" shower is fantastic. Tasteful decor. Convenient location. Could not have asked for a more helpful and kind staff. Love this hotel.
