Can't say I would recommend
Resturant awful as well the service
Noisy and very dated
Very clean and neat and everything did work except the staff
Price was good so I guess you get what you pay for other reviews on trip advisor must be fake or I would not have picked this place

We decided to stay here bases on reviews we had read. They were not exaggerating. From the warm, friendly greeting at the front desk when we arrived, to the comfortable room, to a very nice breakfast, this was a nice place to stay. You will not be disappointed by the hospitality, the helpful staff, the beautiful building, the good night's sleep, or the nice breakfast.

Stayed here for two nights for a vacation weekend in Quito. The hotel has a nice decoration. The hotel staff was REALLY kind and helpful. We got a room with two twin beds instead of the Queen size bed room we reserved. Room was big enough and overall clean. The beds were cozy and comfy, had a really nice sleep. Showers had hot water. Our room was on the 3rd floor. Wifi connection was good. We had cable TV in the room. Breakfast was included and it was okay. Hotel location is really good. We booked a tour with Grayline Tours and since they only pick up tourists from certain hotels, we selected Eugenia Hotel because it was near the JW Mariott Hotel. Overall, the location of the hotel is really good. Its walking distance to fast food, local and international food restaurants, the Foch Plaza and there's also a Crafts Market nearby (really good prices, its called Mercado Artesanal del Mariscal). It's 15min to the Teleferico and about 20min to the Historic Center of Quito. About 50min to the Middle of the World Monument. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends going to Quito, Ecuador.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 3rd floor, next to the elevator. Two twin beds room. It was pretty okay.

Eugenia Hotel is exquisite -- beautiful iron work, ceiling mural, marble, art deco details, stunning petite bar. And the staff are friendly and tried their best to be helpful.

BUT... can't get a good night's sleep. One night we had an "inside" room with a window on to the interior staircase. Noise echoed into our room ALL night long. Even if we closed the window (which made the room hot and stuffy) the sounds still echoed in. The second night we stayed there we have an "outside" room -- where we got the noise from the street all night long.

ALSO, technically, the Hotel has a bar and a restaurant. Neither appeared open but we tried. When we sat down at the bar, the young doorman did his best with a rum and coke and a glass of wine, but clearly had no clue. The wine I selected was not available so was brought the house wine -- which was undrinkable. No food in the bar so we walked our drinks across to the restaurant that didn't appear open. The same young man appeared and we did get food, but felt we were putting people out by using the restaurant.

I bet there are better options in Quito. (Which is unfortunate because Hotel Eugenia has amazing potential)

Room Tip: I don't think they a a "good" room -- if you want a good night's sleep.

The location is very good. In the quite side of Mariscal district (Gringo-city). on the good side clean rooms, receptionists with very good english that were very helpful and friendly. warm water in the shower. fairly reasonable wifi connection, nice buffet breakfast with very smiley waiter
on the disappointing side: the walls haven't been painted for a long time and has lots of humidity and moldy areas with a stuffy odor.

Room Tip: the rooms near the elevator have better wifi signal
