Interesting converted mansion away from the centre but in an area with many other hotels and restaurants. Good breakfast and really helpful staff. Very secure and clean. The WiFi worked and they held our bags for us while we went to the jungle.

Eugenia Hotel in Quito is an excellent place-clean, walking distance to tourist center. A beautifully designed hotel inside and out. Includes breakfast as well as wifi and internet. Fernanda at the front desk was especially helpful and went above and beyond to help us with getting around town and Ecuador as well.

Room Tip: rooms near Berger King were too bright

We stayed there recently for five nights. We were on the 3rd floor.

The good: Lovely hotel situated in the La Mariscal district of Quito, otherwise known as Gringolandia. It is a 5-10 minute walk to Plaza Foch, which is ground zero of Gringolandia. Very helpful and courteous staff. Delicious and generous breakfast. Elegantly decorated. Hot water.

Wifi signal strength was not good, probably due to the fact that our room was down the hall, away from the wifi router location. There was no chest of drawers to store clothes. We found what appeared to be mold in the bathroom. Sometimes it would take several minutes to draw hot water to the shower.

We would stay there again.

Room Tip: If wifi strength is important to you, ask for a room near the elevator, as this is where the router...

A lovely hotel situated in an area of Quito where there are a wealth of restaurants to enjoy. The staff of the hotel are very welcoming and helpful and the rooms, though bijou, provide you with all you could possibly need. Easy to recommend this hotel situated in an area of the city where there seems to be little to worry about safety.

Room Tip: They're all good. We stayed 4 nights on 3 occasions. All in different rooms!

Eugenia Hotel is a great stop in Quito. We were there for 3 days. It is a boutique hotel with a colonial flair and beautiful European décor. The outside is just a white building but you will be impressed with the interior. The guest rooms are small but we weren't there to spend our day in the room. The front desk staff is great and extremely helpful with our poor Spanish. They are knowledgeable and helpful with excursion recommendations, with restaurants and things to see in the area. This hotel is not close to the new Airport but few of them are. They are located in the edge of the tourist district, close to the historical district and the different artisan markets. You can make Eugenia your home base and walk or taxi ride for $2.00-$5.00 anywhere you want to go. We even caught the transit bus out to Mitad del Mundo. Great place to stay and explore Quito.

Hotel Eugenia is nestled in the newer part of Quito, close to lots of restaurants and cafes. While the room was smaller than anticipated, the staff were very friendly and the hotel generally pleasing. The daily breakfast buffet had a nice selection of fruits, baked goods and hot items. The hotel is not that old, but shows some wear in the carpets in the rooms, but is clean and fairly quiet, despite it's close proximity to a main artery. (Considering you're in the heart of the city.) We found it walkable to the old town' but some people may find it a ways out. They must have made improvements to the WiFi, as we had no issues at all.

We stayed one night at Hotel Eugenia. Our room was broken into when we went to dinner. All our bags had been opened up and dumped out. The result wasn't as bad as it could have been, but our ipad and DSLR camera had been stolen ($1,400). We were flabbergasted, as we decided to stay at this hotel because of the security. Turns out the hotel was only 10% occupied (6 rooms), and nobody was let in the hotel since we left (There is a security gate and security guard). This led us to believe it had to have been an employee of the hotel or another guest. Of course the manager immediately insisted that it wasn't an employee, but who knows. We asked for a refund for the room, but were scoffed at....? And were told that we should have put our things in a safe. Problem is the safe wan't big enough to fit our ipad or camera. I do not recommend this hotel. There are a lot of great hotels in Quito, and price does not necessarily reflect quality. Do some research online or ask to see the rooms before you book...and always keep your passport with you.
