“Convenient in Downtown Quito”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2012

Modern eight storey hotel in downtown Quito. Good sized rooms with sitting alcove. Bathrooms generally up to date (although shower tiles getting a bit old). Convenient for downtown shops and to airport (but new airport opens Winter 2013 much further away).

Well located, close to Foch Square (full of restaurants and bars), close to shops. It need remodelling because it is dark, even the room is little lightened. The wardrobe smells wood. Nice breakfast/restaurant - if you have to get up very early, they offer some tea and little breads. Some amenities in the toilet.Free internet.

I travel to Quito frequently for business, and have stayed in several hotels. Reina Isabel is the cleanest and one of the most modern available. My room was spotless and well-decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The area doesn't seem like much, but on weekends it is great. It's also very close to Plaza Foch's many restaurants, cafes and bars.

The only downsides are that the hotel doesn't offer room service (which won't matter to most people) and the restaurant closes at 11 pm. Minor drawbacks compared to everything else.

Didn't have much expectations when booked at this hotel on a quick visit to Quito on my way to Yasuní National Park. The room is huge, a delightful decoration, minimalistic, but with comfort in mind. Wood floors and an island in the middle of the room nicely separating the bed with a small office. The Bathroom big as well. A steam shower and Jacuzzi! Just WOW! The restaurant very comfy, nothing special on the decoration but really good food. The only backlash is that you can't make direct phone calls from the room, but instead having to call the front desk for them to make it for you. All employees at the hotel are extremely nice and attentive. I'm leaving definitely thinking this will be the place to come back to Quito on my next trip. Hopefully soon!

If you are only going to sleep it is great, but if you want to visit Quito the Old City is a MUCH better place to stay. Hotel Reina was clean but noisy and there is very little to see in the surrounding area (unless you like tourist trap bars). The Old City is lovely, but an additional 15 min from the airport. As an airport transfer place it is fine. Very nice staff. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with good reading lamps and comfy beds.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet one. Some were renovate recently.

Our room at this hotel was great, very spacious with comfortable beds. The bathroom was huge, with a fantastic shower. Breakfast was fine, breads, cheese, meat and fruit. Location was good, close to Plaza Foch. Tip - If you are travelling in a group pre book a taxi to the airport. We waited for ages for one arranged at the front desk.
