Overall we liked this hotel. It is located in the New Town close to many good restaurant and the Parque El Ejido. The rooms are large, clean and nicely decorated. Also the bathrooms are clean and modern. The personnel is very helpful and friendly.
What we did not like
- phone did not work, but they tried to charge us for our attempts to use it
- the breakfast is mediocre
(Could be a showcase for the restaurant, which consequently we did not try.)

Very clean. Very close to Mariscal and lots of places to eat and drink. Very large and modern bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although, the prices of the menu at the hotel restaurant were higher than anything else around.

As per our usual, we arrive in the city and over a period find the hotel that has all the qualities that we require for extended and repeat stays. Last year we were in and out of Quito for two months, this year for three. We stayed in a half dozen hotels in Old Town and Mariscal, we inspected a dozen more, some more than once as specific rooms became available. We look for the new, or a new remodel, modern styling, quiet, centro convenience, safety, attractive spacious rooms with natural light, two windows that open are important and fresh flowers a plus, with modern spotless bathrooms.
We are or prefer to be off season travelers. We are urban people so we can tolerate moderate social and urban noise but no mechanical racket.

Returning to the Reina Isabel over the months have convinced us that we have the best hotel, we book our friends and family into the RI to show them the best of South America's travelers hotels.

The vibe. The Reina Isabel is as sleek as a space-ship, the rooms are knock-out modern and large, some bathrooms at the RI are larger than some Quito hotel rooms. The staff is efficient, trusted, observant, attentive, and keenly professional. At breakfast you see that most of the guests are couples, South American mainly, sometimes Euros, a few Gringos. I have never seen a group larger than 12, I have yet to see kids. It is not a business hotel.

You can walk to Plaza Foch (nite life?), calle Juan Leon Mera(antiques, art, books, fashion), Santa Clara market (upstairs), Parque Ejido, the University Central.
On Sundays Amazon street is closed and the Park shows fine art and tourist stuff.

Room Tip: Key cards are floor specific as well as room exclusive so if your group has more than one room make sure that the rooms are on the same floor. The neighborhood can be iffy at night, but the hotel locks up like bank. When the hotel is full the WiFi bogs down. New tower rooms above the 5th floor are bright, breezy and have a view.

huge room, friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast (delicious omeletts but blunt coffee though), comfortable and safe location (well protected too) but unfortunately no mini bar and/or fridge. Be aware of your laundry bill: we used laundry service twice.... 80 dollars! what???

Dear Daisy,

Thank you for your comments, we appreciate each remark you have made. We have implemented a new administration in our restaurant, that will be very focused on quality control of all of our products, looking for new and better suppliers in order to assure that only the best are served in our restaurants. In regards to your laundry bill, we sincerely apologize for any inconveniences that you may have encountered with this procedure; the laundry pricelist is placed in your closet next to the laundry bag so that all our guests are aware of the prices before requesting this service. We thank you once again for your comments and hope to have you visit us again sometime soon.
Sincerely,

The rooms are new and large, with everything one expects and more. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Great location, in walking distance from many restaurants and bars. I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new wing
