Stayed here for 5 nights in total. Right in the centre of the old town so great if you need to pop back while you adjust to being jet-lagged at altitude.

Staff couldn't do enough and everything works like clock-work . Breakfast is from 6.30 but they were happy for us to eat as soon as the buffet was laid out when we were a) still on uk time or b) getting an early morning taxi.

Because it is a converted historical building sound proofing is not as good as it would be a modern hotel. We slept surprisingly well.

Room Tip: We had 2 different rooms and one was bigger and better -211

My husband and I spent 5 nights in the Hotel Patio Andaluz and were very impressed with the facility, the service, the restaurant and the helpful staff. The rooms are all different as it is a historical building converted to a hotel, so do ask to see the rooms. We stayed in 214 which was a fairly large room, all on one level, with 3 windows (not to the exterior but to the halls and interior patios), and an air conditioner. The hotel is centrally located to everything in the Historic Center. The included breakfast was very good and the wait staff will have eggs of your choice prepared in addition to the buffet. We also dined at the restaurant one evening and found that the food was excellent.
We did visit another hotel close by and found it to be even more luxurious and a little more pricey. You may wish to also check it out. It is the Mansion Alcazar on Simon Bolivar.

Room Tip: #212 and #214 are the largest rooms with windows and air conditioner.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for our first 4 nights in Ecuador. We got into the airport late but "luckily" our taxi driver sensed our fatigue and drove incredibly fast and ran all red lights :) The price of a taxi booked in the airport to Patio Andaluz was $37 and took about 45 minutes at 1am.

The staff was awake and ready for us, check in was quick and the room looked great on arrival (room 220). The room and bed were big which was nice. We both liked the courtyard look on the inside of the hotel. The bathroom was fine, the shower was a bit touchy but got the job done. The bed was a bit hard for us but nothing a lot of hiking and food during the day couldn't solve.

The room did get stuffy, we had 1 big window facing into the courtyard but it could not be opened. We would usually just leave the door open for a while when we first got back. The AC worked great and you could program it to always have the fan on (for you white noise people).

Requesting taxis was easy through the bell hops and everyone was very friendly. There were too many other places to eat (which I hope to review) so we never ate at the hotel.

The location was amazing!!

We had a great stay at the Hotel Patio Andaluz in July. The location couldn't be better. You are just a few steps away from the Plaza Grande and many fun restaurants in the Archbishops Square. The hotel is well maintined and clean. Many places to sit and relax. Water, tea and coffee provided all day and night. The staff was very helpful and called taxis for us when needed. Great place.

When traveling to the Galapagos, you will likely end up spending at least a night in Quito. Patio Andaluz is a very nice choice. The rooms are part of a large historic mansion that is centered around a courtyard so it almost feels like you are staying in a giant house than a hotel. The food at the restaurant was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The hotel is located in the old quarter which is located close to the main attractions in Quito and a far prettier area than other parts of Quito.
