We have stayed for several nights at the Patio Andaluz and have found everything to be exceptional. The hotel is a beautifully restored colonial building with modern conveniences. The hotel is in the heart of the colonial district so you are steps away from great restaurants, coffee shops, the cathedral, La Ronda. The hotel was very quiet during our stay, and the atmosphere is one of calm. The front desk, doormen, bellboys have all been very welcoming and helpful. We have had to make several adjustments to our reservations and everything has been done efficiently and graciously. The showers are hot and the water pressure is great - a big plus when travelling. Bottomless refills for water bottles are available 24 hr,as is tea and coffee. We haven't eaten in the restaurant - there are too many options outside the hotel where the food is excellent and the prices reasonable. We would highly recommend this hotel - try the chocolate from the gift shop!

Our stay at the Hotel Patio Andaluz in Quito was very enjoyable. The service at check-in and check-out was excellent and friendly. The location of the Hotel is excellent, and architecture is very interesting. The food was also very good. Eduardo in the bar made us feel very special. We would stay their again.

Room Tip: The upstairs bedroom, while a lot of fun and spacious, may be an issue for older individuals or thos...

As we entered the doors of the Patio Andaluz, our cares seem to fall away. We needed some down time after an exciting but sleepless week on a ship in the Galapagos and before we took on the rigors of the Amazon. This hotel delivered just what we needed. Housed in a very old building nestled in Old Town Quito, the hotel is built around a series of courtyards protected from the elements by skylights. The staff was friendly and willing to do anything to make our stay enjoyable. The room we had was on the first floor - small and nicely furnished. One small complaint, acknowledged by staff in a little pamphlet in the room, is that with all the rooms facing courtyards, the noise level is a little high. Earplugs would make that problem go away. The breakfast buffet that came with the room was more than adequate. We had dinner at the in-house restaurant one night and the food was quite good, serving a wide range of typical Ecuadorian dishes, and the cost was very reasonable. I wish I could have stayed longer; spending more time at the Patio Andaluz and the beautiful city of Quito.

Room Tip: The rooms that are away from the restaurant courtyard will be a little bit more quiet.

My friend and I chose this hotel for our 5-night stay in Quito after reading other's TripAdvisor reviews. We knew we wanted to stay in the Old Town area and the hotel's location is perfect. Upon entering we were greeted immediately. There are usually 2 young men at the door, and everyone spoke English, making our stay easy.

Our lovely appointed room on the 2nd floor was away from street and although there aren't windows, we did have a small room air conditioner which helped with fresh air. The room was quite spacious with 2 double beds. The bathroom was somewhat small, but water pressure and hot water was excellent.

The dining room staff were always on top of any request and as usual, smiling and gracious. The gift shop is authentic and the 2 young women(one whose name escapes me!) were so very helpful with all and any questions, not only about the lovely artisan gifts, but general information for the city. Since we were in Quito for Holy Week, we experienced one of Quito's major, religious processions. Quite a treat!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel.....a safe oasis in old town Quito, the staff are very well trained, friendly and helpful. They provide coffee, tea and limitless water which is an absolute bonus in South America. Our room was large and comfortable with a good shower (you need to wait quite a while for the hot water to come upstairs though), the essential safety deposit box, and beds that I initially thought a little hard...but after the first couple of nights proved quite okay. The hotel is in a very good location to the main downtown areas of old Quito and the hop-on hop-off bus that I would recommend you use. Breakfast was very good but dinner was a little disappointing but there are plenty of restaurants/cafes nearby. If you don't like stairs, ask for a room on a lower level and your bedroom and ensuite on the same level too. The ambiance and old world charm of this hotel is stunning. All the beautiful roses on display are grown locally.

Some of the most engaged staff in Ecuador. The front bell men were ALWAYS there to make sure I was OK and got to my room without a problem. The woman in the moning who spoke Enclish very well was so gracious and patience. I enjoyed my trip here thoroughly. The location also made it perfect as well. I could walk through the front doors or stay in my room to walk through the procession for Good Friday. Fascinating.

We stayed here for two nights before a trip to the Galapagos and one night before going on to Buenos Aires. Its in a great location, and the staff are welcoming. The common areas are impressive too; very local with a bit of a historic feel. I found the rooms dark though - the first one had little natural light (only a lightwell) which I found claustrophobic and I was "upgraded" to a room with a window but we had to climb a wooden staircase to the bed/bathroom area. Charming but a little difficult although I do accept that the building is old and the room design was imaginative. I thought that the bathroom was below what is currently an acceptable standard and it needed a refit. The breakfast was good - we ate locally in the excellent "Mea Culpa" just a street or so away.
