This hotel is really a great value in the heart of the old town and close to everything. The inner courtyards, food and overall decor is quite charming and you instantly feel at home. The service was friendly but there were a few snafus with communication and responsiveness in the dining room. No real big deal and certainly not enough to put us off from coming back, if we again find ourselves in Quito.

We had a very pleasant 2-night stay at Patio Andaluz. The hotel is beautifully designed, the room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice restaurant, our dinner was delicious and the service was great. The location is perfect in the Old Town, all tourist spots are within walking distance.

My husband and I stayed for one night while visiting Ecuador. Our only complaint is we didn't stay long enough. Hotel staff was incredibly friendly. We were extremely impressed with the customer service. Honestly can't say enough wonderful things about our experience at this hotel.

This was my first time in Quito and my first hotel in the area - I found it to be beautifully designed and decorated, with EXCELLENT staff and service. During my trip, I stayed at the hotel both at the beginning and the middle of the trip, and both rooms were nicely laid-out and clean and quiet. I've seen other reviewers complaining about temperature or windows that don't open, but this was exactly what I expected in a European-like hotel - the ceiling fan was perfectly fine... I also tried the bar and ate both lunch and breakfast in the hotel - all food was excellent.
The location, and ease of walking to many sights and sites in the old town made it an excellent spot for me. I'll be BACK!

We were on the second floor- the rooms are super spacious, however we were put int he room with the generator behind one of the doors. The sound of this was annoying and made for a noisey room, until it turned off around 11 pm.
The food for lunch/ dinner is excellent. The breakfast lacked a bit of variety.
But location for walking and tours around the old city was perfect.
The gift shop located within the hotel is excellent.

Room Tip: Make sure you dont get the room with the hotel generator next door ,

Located in Quito's historical district (a UNESCO World Heritage site), this charming boutique hotel, just steps from Independence Square (be there Monday morning at 11:00 for the colorful changing of the guard), a 16th-century cathedral (fabulous wooden ceiling), the 18th-century Campania de Jesus (gilded splendor) and the Plaza de San Francisco (a convent and church). The rooms are comfortable, the staff goes out of their way to answer questions, and the food is top notch. The welcome drink, a blend of pomegranate juice and aguadiente, pulls no punches -- a surprise when you're trying to get used to life at 9,000 feet! On the other hand, you'll sleep like a baby.

Room Tip: Our suite was charming--a loft with a sitting room on first floor and a bedroom upstairs. But if you...

A very nice hotel on a good location. We spent a few nights in the uppermost room (where the window could actually open...) and had a great time. Adequate staff and good service. We had to get used to the sound of traffic police whistles on the streets nearby, but we managed and got a good rest. This weas our first hotel in ecuador: the fact that we were staying on the uppermost floor helped us in getting used to the altitude....
