We loved this charming hotel...based on the reviews we weren't certain but decided to go for it. If you prefer a boutique hotel, this one is it. It is elegant, charming, warm and impeccably maintained. Our 1st room was a 2 story delight that overlooked the restaurant...we had 2 separate sleeping areas plus our own "balcony" overlooking the courtyard. On the return, we had a large room with 2 king beds located in the back of the hotel near the secret wine bar...not really a secret but it is hidden away almost in a grotto with a lovely wine selection, full bar and rock walls. The hotel has several sitting areas scattered about, an internet desk, coffee and tea in the library and a glass roof...we weren't there long enough to learn the history of the building but whoever did the restoration did a beautiful job, nothing was overlooked. We did enjoy the restaurant as well...the breakfast was plentiful. We paid $130/night and thought it was a deal...also walking distance to the old city.
In case you're wondering who we are: Mom is 5 star and I'm a budget traveler...we both loved it.More
