Stayed here on 3 separate occasions in May 2014. Beautiful looking hotel, inside and out, in a good location in Mariscal. Wonderful staff, always willing to help, particularly given I can't speak one sentence of Spanish! Were happy to keep bags when I was touring the Galapagos Islands and Amazonia. Breakfast was pretty good. Would stay again when visiting Quito.

Room Tip: Get a room in the main hotel building (not the rooms that are accessed outside) if you are worried about keeping warm without central heating.

Beautiful hotel located in a good location in Mariscal, highlighted by excellent customer service. We stayed here our last night in Quito and really had a good experience. The hotel is very unique looking, like a big family house with a lot of different rooms set up in various nooks and crannies on different floors. There were flowers everywhere and the hotel had a rustic cabin feel to it.

We had to get up at 3am the last night we where there, and the front desk made sure our wake up call and taxi pick up were in order. He also went out of his way to make us a small breakfast before our departure. He really went above and beyond my expectations.

There is a lot of nightlife and restaurants nearby the hotel, so if you're looking to have a good fun night after dark, I'd recommend a stay here.

this hotel was nicely located relative to Mariscal district. it has a pleasant style and rustic sort of atmosphere that we liked. the room was a bit small. price okay. food very good. While other reviews complained of noise, we did not find it to be noisy. Our room was up front looking over the street.

I really love the Vieja Cuba....it is well situated - (walking distances to shops and restaurants) but most of all it is charming and pristine and super comfortable. The rooms are lovely amd the views are great. The service is excellent and the staff are very helpful - they even got me a Doctor at 4 am! Overall, I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay when visiting Quito.

The hotel is located in New Town, quite a distance from the Old Town but within easy stroll to the lively La Mariscal area around Juan de Velasco street. Judging by the many intimidating-looking fences, though, this is probably not the safest area particularly at night so avoid coming back on your own.

Vieja Cuba was built in the style of Spanish hacienda and is rather quaint. Rooms, however, appear to have paper thin walls (and it can get rather noisy even late at night) and glass doors that lit up the room with the light from corridor's energy-saving lamps any time somebody walks past. So perhaps not for light-sleepers.

There is no lift to the second floor and stairs are quite steep.

Free internet access is provided.

Bathrooms are not that functional with little storage space and soap provided in little bottles, rather inconvenient to use.

Breakfast was varied and quite sufficient. Staff friendly though could do with being a little bit more efficient considering the status of the hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 2 as it seems to be in the busiest part of the hotel
