Stayed here for a few nights during my two week trip to Ecuador. I was upgraded to the garden suite, which was beautiful and so comfortable. This hotel was truly amazing! The best place I stayed on the whole trip! The restaurant was incredible, so definitely eat there during your stay. Thanks to the front desk and the rest of the hotel staff for making our visit so special. I can't wait to get back there!

The hotel is really nice. The staff is very friendly and the decor and atmosphere are first class. We had a garden suite for 5 days and it was very peaceful and the rooms were well done. We liked the turndown service with hot water bottles every night! The breakfast is well done and again the service is first rate. Probably the most expensive hotel in Cuenca but hundreds of dollars less than similar hotels in the U.S or Europe. A few small areas that could be improved are the lack of coffee in the rooms or the lobby in the morning, if you are an early riser you will have to wait untill breakfast is served before your first cup! Also it is very incovenient to have seperate wifi systems for different areas of the hotel. It was a pain to come from your garden suite and if you go to the lobby to have a drink and check your email, it is a totally different system. I dont think guests who are paying several hundred dollars a night are stealing wifi!! Great place to stay if it is in your budget

Room Tip: garden suite rooms are much quiter and more relaxing than those in the main hotel where the rooms open right onto the common areas and can be noisy. Garden suite 203 is very quite as it is next to the spa which in unoccupied most of the time.

This is probably the most beautiful hotels I have ever experienced. It is an old mansion and the furnishings are original. Many rooms to wander. Like being in your own castle. New, rear rooms with garden are also delightful and quieter, as more private, but the rooms in the mansion are priceless. The staff is absolutely the best. The dining room food was delicious. Best chicken dinner in years and wonderful breakfasts. Wish I could return one day.

Room Tip: Prefer second floor. Ground floor rooms are beautiful, but open onto the lobby. Also the rooms in the new wing in the rear garden are wonderful.

Mansion Alcazar was better than we hoped! The staff was friendly, and the rooms were very big and spacious. The garden was well kept up and clean with flowers everywhere. We had a problem with the Internet, and the staff tried their best to help fix the problem. This hotel is highly recommended.

Room Tip: The suites in the back part are very big!

This hotel is situated close to the main square in Cuenca. The hotel is on old house refurbished to feel like one is a home. The furniture is often antique and the public rooms are spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant food was very good. Our room was very comfortable, even if we did have trouble finding the cunningly concealed TV
