Terra is a much needed respite in El Centro and offers the best Almuerzo we have had, bar none and it is $3.00 which should appeal to most travelers, students and retirees. It is across the street from Cafe Austria, a quaint expat, student and traveler and local favorite and it giving it a run for it's money. You don't give up a single amenity to get price. We are rather adventurous eaters and when we passed this newly opened restaurant we peaked in and we are glad we did as it has become a staple for us as well as the many xpats and locals alike who are learning about it from word of mouth.
Beyond a delicious Almuerzo, it has a full range of offerings and a full bar and if you are so inclined they have the soccer games on for the local fans. We have had the lunch many times and just recently had their breakfast and will be going back to explore their menu, as we have been thrilled with the entire dining experience. For those unaccustomed to trying to find open restaurants in Cuenca on a Sunday and holidays, this is a gold mine. From food, to service, to price to cleanliness to Wifi they seemed to have nailed the quintessential dining experience and to boot you are handed the Miami Herald if you want to check on things in the States. This restaurant is run by a Chilean family and they are doing it right.
