The hostel is in a quaint little square about five blocks from the main plaza. Pancakes were the better option for breakfast - much more appetizing than the scrambled eggs. Staff spoke good English and helped us navigate the city.
The hostel had one of the fastest wifi connections we came across while traveling through South America. It sounded like a live band was playing directly beside our room.
Make sure to visit the dessert place downstairs too!

I would return to this hostel. We arrived early in the morning and found reception staff to be friendly, helpful and with good English skills and a smile :) We booked a private double room (not that much more expensive than a dorm room) with shared bathroom. Facilities were simple, but clean, and everything you need. Luke-warm shower was unfortunate. Breakfast was pretty good - banana pancakes made for a change from bread rolls and jam. I liked the peaceful outdoor spaces where you could sit in the sun, and the couch spaces indoors where you could relax. Staff were helpful with bus and tour information. Free and pretty good wifi in the rooms. Location was easy for our taxi driver to find, and easy walking distance to the main square and restaurant / bar strips (the hostel staff gave us a map and showed us the best places to eat / drink / sightsee). I recommend Amazing Hostel, Arequipa.

The hostel doesn't quite live up to its name, but it is very good and worth a stay if you are in Arequipa. There seem to be a few party hostels in this city; this is not one of them, so if you're looking for a party, I wouldn't suggest you stay here.

We stayed two nights - before and after our Colca Canyon trek (which we organised through Veronica at reception and can highly recommend. It is a reasonable price too). We had two different rooms - Venecia is definitely better than Sicilia (which is located near the reception & communal area, so can be noisy). Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable & showers have hot water.

Breakfast is included - a choice of eggs or banana pancakes. The pancakes seem to be the highlight and are tasty. There is a communal area at reception level & a rooftop terrace. Wifi is available throughout the hostel (although not as strong on the rooftop).

It is about a 5-10 minute walk from the main plaza, close to the monastery and various bars and restaurants.

The hostel are able to assist with tours. We booked a 2 day Colca Canyon trek through them for the next day, which was easy & well priced. The tour was excellent, although do take some extra money for drinks during your stay at the Oasis.

My partner and I stayed 2 nights here before and after trekking. Overall the hostel is comfortable with clean rooms, comfortable beds and good showers. Staff were friendly, the breakfast was awesome and it was great having a fully equipped kitchen. The only drawback is that it lacks a bit of atmosphere as a 'backpackers' hostel. This suited us fine as we were after some rest. The only other negative was that there was a bit of noise from the families that were utilizing it as a base. Completely not the fault of the owners but a bit annoying that the parents couldn't control their kids a bit more.

An absolute little gem. I'm so pleased I stayed here rather than roughing it with some of the gap year muppets at Wild Rover!

I stayed slightly out of season so the hostel was quiet when I was there, however aside from the slight lack of social interaction I certainly could not fault anything about the place. The location is quiet and pleasant on a small square, with an excellent cake shop next door.

My room was outstanding value for money, genuinely the most pleasant double room I stayed in whilst in Peru barring a *VERY* expensive Lima hotel. Spotlessly clean, everything worked and attractively furnished. Oh, and the shower was HOT.

I found the staff utterly charming and very helpful, even fixing my ripped trousers for me for a small fee. They speak fairly basic English, but I managed just fine with a bit of Spanish and a smile!

Great value for money and a pleasant, comfortable stay.

Room Tip: Double rooms very good value for money

The banana pancakes with caramel sauce were SUCH a nice change from the typical light breakfasts in Peru.

The public spaces (a tv room, terrace with tables and chairs and a ping pong table) are all lovely- the terrace in particular with flowering vines all around it.

The location was a 5-7 minute walk from the main square but in a really nice square right next to the fantastic restaurant Arthur!

Room itself was basic- clean and comfortable, although they never took out our trash in the bathroom! (A real negative since you can't flush toilet paper).

The tour to Colca Canyon that we booked through the hostel was also good value.
