Location was great, very quiet, we stayed 5 days. Paid 5 soles for Taxi to go downtown. Room with extra sitting space, Service was excellent, helpful and very friendly Staff. Breakfast buffet so so, but if you like some things und they have it, you get it.

I´ve stayed there for two weeks, the hostel was clean and neat, I was in a double room, it was comfortable, it had a big closet and a security box. The location is near from restaurants and bakeries. The staff was very helpful and kind.
The only bad thing was the breakfast, because it didn´t have a buffet.

We stayed here two nights. We received some exceptional service, but there were downsides too.

Though I had asked for a quiet room they put us in one that received a lot of street noise and I didn't get much sleep.

The next morning I brought this up and, after first showing me another room that would have also gotten street noise (what were they thinking?), they gave us an entire suite in the interior.

We left our luggage at the hotel for our tour to Colca Canyon. Upon return in late afternoon, we had a late flight to Lima that night but needed to change our 7am Cruz del Sur bus reservation for the following morning. The manager drove over with us in a taxi to do the exchange at a mall! Though I'm sure I would have managed it on my own--I have enough Spanish--it certainly made it a lot easier.

The wireless worked well.

There were a couple of other minor downsides: the included breakfast is skimpy. There's no buffet. Rather, there's a waitress and you get a juice, either eggs or a fruit bowl, a roll or two, and coffee or tea. That's it. Anything else is additional. (Actually, this was good for me because I overeat at the buffets.)

Also, we printed out our boarding passes and bus tickets and were then told there was a charge of a sol per page. Obviously a nominal expense, but unworthy of hotel of this supposed class.

Note: the hotel is owned by the order of nuns of the Santa Catalina Monastery!

We would stay there again, though I would look at other choices too. We both liked it a lot more than La Casa de mi Abuela where we stayed our first night.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend and this turned out to be a great recommendation. From the first minute I walked into the door which was held open with a smile a felt welcome and at rest after a long flight from europe to south america. I returned here several times during my trip through SA for a month and every time I had a nice room which was very clean. All of the staff was always helpfull in carrying luggage, calling taxis or reserving restaurants for me as a non spanish speaking dutch man.

All in all made this hotel and its employees my trip an unforgetable experience! Next time in Arequipa I will surely come back here.
