“Great stay!”
Reviewed 22 January 2012

We traveled to Cusco as a couple to visit the city and walk the Inka Trail to Macchu Picchu in December 2011.
We stayed a this hostel after the trail (because we didn't like our first hostel: Casa Grande). Even though we were paying 5$ less per night than the previous hostel, we were amazed by how much better this hostel was! First of all it looks like a hotel and not a hostel, and everything seemed newly renovated. The staff was very nice and they kept our luggage while we did the Inka trail. The room was very big, sunny, comfortable and clean. The water in the shower was normal, so you didn't have to freeze every time you took one. The breakfast was excellent. It had a lot of variety and also a cook to make you some eggs or other things you might like.
A huge plus of this hotel is that it had heating. It gets really really cold at night in Cuzco and you will find yourself using that heating!
It also had a really nice lounge area next to the entrance with computers and free internet. Also, each floor had a nice lounge area with comfortable couches.
It's located a bit further away from the plaza de Armas (5-7 min walking) but it was close to avenida del Sol and Qorikancha. I think if you want to stay right "in" plaza de armas block, you will have to pay double than here to get a similar value (and not sure you will).
We strongly recommend this hotel and if we ever go back to Cuzco we most likely will stay here again.

Room Tip: I wouldn't choose a room on the ground floor because you are very close to the lounge area and m...

This hotel is located just 5 minutes by the historic centre.
I've been in this hotel for 5 nights. The first 2 nights I was in a room without wall sockets! The room was very small, the window couldn't be opened, the fridge didn't work, but there were 2 bottles of inca cola inside(warm). For the other 3 nights they have given to me a room bigger then previous room, but the WC was broken and every night I had to shut down the flush because was really noisy! The wi-fi didn't work so good and for a whole day was down. In both bathrooms the water was warm, not hot!!!
The breakfast was really good and the staff was very nice and kind, but they didn't know to solve the problems.

this hotel is actually good in all ways except the noise, you here all the other people from the other rooms because of the echo of the building. beside of that the rooms are clean, have tv and free wi-fi and have huge bathrooms. the staff is very friendly and helpful and serve an amazing breakfast buffet. bring earplugs.

My husband and myself have been traveling to Cusco for a month for the past 5 years. We have stayed at Apus Dream, it has been like home away from home. The rooms were spacious enough to meet our needs. There was plenty of hot water, which is rare in manny parts of the city. The rooms were clean including the hotel in general. The 24 hour staff has always been willing and able to provide assistance with a smile on their face. The daily breakfast included eggs, juice, cereal, bread, yogurt, banana pancakes, coffee, cheese, ham, olives, and an ample variety of fresh fruits. It is a great place to meet people from other parts of the world. Great atmosphere with a touch of spanish decoration. We are going back this year, 2011 for another month worth of adventures!!!

I liked this hotel alot. The rooms were quite nice and spacious. For $60/nt it seemed like a great deal. Wifi does not work in the very top floors. But some rooms at the top floor have a views. This hotel is about 5 stories high. Stairs can be a real chore going u p and down all the time so think twice about staying up high. There is a awesome little hole in the wall Italian restraunt just around the corner to the left called La Libetad (or something like that) that serves Italian and peruvian dishes. It was the only really good food we could find in Cusco and we tried many places in our 4 day stay , including the nice expensive looking restraunts. This little restraunt was very cheap and also had the very best Pisco sours Ive had anywhere in all of Peru.

The breakfast buffet is really good. There is a staff person to scramble up eggs for you and it had yougurt, cereals, fruits, cold sandwich type meats, just about everything one could expect of a free breakfast buffett. (Eggs cost a little though)

The staff will go get you anything you need. Very helpful

This hotel is built around a small coutyard. It looks very pretty and the rooms are great. However the coutyard is a meeting place for tour groups and a relaxing area with a tv. All the rooms overlook the courtyard so you can hear all the noise, even if you are high up. It quietens down after 11pm but if you are on the bottom floor you have people milling around, shouting and bawling right outside your door and window!

I moved to floor 3 which was better. Rooms facing the street have windows but it is slightly noisy with traffic. on the other side the rooms have a poor view.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was above average in south America. I left my bag there and had no problems.

Location is 5 mins from old Inca temple and 10mins walk from main plaza.

Overall good choice but no way on the bottom floor.
