This hotel is located in what is called matress valley as in all the matress shops are located around it!

It wasnt too far to the main square alwathough a good 10-15 minute walk.

Before our inca tek we stayed here and the room was dire. Smallest separate toilet and shower. It was so small the water from the showerhead poured out of the shower! The windows were single pane and felt like you were sitting on the street. With ear plugs and exhaustion we about slept!

On the return from the inca trek we got a room on the top floor with a balcony, and massive bathroom it almost felt like a "free upgrade" and when you think no shower or electricty for 5 days it felt like sheer luxury!! It was still very noisey!

I have come to expect the hotels with GAP Adventures will never be more than the minimum of acceptable and I think it is very mixed. Some people in the party moved out of this hotel as they disliked it so much.

It served a purpose but certainly does not feel any like a holiday in these hotels with Gap Adventures.

Good points were the basic brekfasts of ham and boiled egg crusty sarnies, very nice! The front desk was pretty helpful.

Room Tip: it is sheer luck of the draw I think!

We weren't sure what to expect at the hotel as it was arranged as part of our tour company. It was the start hotel for before the machu picchu trail hike and the hotel used on return. We were quite pleasantly suprised that it met the basic needs of our stay. The rooms were OK and were able to accommodate the three travellers in my party with one room with three beds. The hotel is in a great location to the city square and we always felt safe in and around this neighbourhood when walking the streets late at night.
The service desk staff were quite helpful and there was a couple internet terminals available for use. Other travellers from our tour group actually transferred to this hotel after the hike as they were unimpressed with the other arrangements made for them.
The restaurant was OK (only ate there for breakfast), and would recommend you try the many other restaurant options found in the city square.
If you want something less expensive and no too concerned with luxury, I would recommend staying here. Altogether a pleasant experience.

Great location, easy to walk everywhere, felt safe the whole time around the area even late at night. Only problem was the hot water being very temperamental and sometimes non-existant. Good service at reception, always helpful.

We travelled through with our tour group GAP adventures and it seemed that most of the other guests were doing the same. Inkeeping with this the hotel is basic and the rooms of variable quality, but the staff are friendly and there is a relaxing bar / restaurant area that offers decent food. Some rooms can be very noisy, but reception were helpful when we asked to change rooms for our second night and although this room had no outside windows (just windows into the corridor / communal space - with curtains), it was a decent enough room for the price we saw listed.

Stayed here as part of a tour, rooms were very dim and small but bathrooms were clean with hot water. Beds were not very comfortable. Food in restaurant was not very good. Good location, walking distance to central square. Very thin walls so rooms can get noisy from hallway/street noise. Free use of internet in lobby.

The Prisma was in a decent location, only a couple of blocks from the main square. The rooms were cleaned regularly and we felt safe but the street noise and lobby noise really carried as the windows are single paned. We were happy with the breakfast that included cereal, various juices, hard boiled eggs , and great bread rolls. We had a family room and the kids slept well. Friendly staff in the restaurant.

This hotel is mainly used for big tour operators. We were staying as part of our Inca Trail with Gap Adventures. Our first room was small, dark and average. After the tour we had another room for two nights which was much nicer - large, TV, hot water, very comfortable with nice large window. Staff speak English. Good breakfast. Bit like a travelodge or something similar in UK.
