"Incasita" - great value bed & breakfast style accomodations run by "Rosa", family and great, friendly staff - has only 7 rooms with private baths w/ hot showers - "on demand" flash-style water heaters, balcony on 3rd floor, sitting room with free internet and TV/ DVD and breakfast dining room for guests (eggs, rolls w/ jam & butter, coffee/(coca)tea, fruit - basket on counter all day, choice of fresh orange / papaya / pineapple juice... even fresh banana bread on weekend!!) in a safe, quiet neighborhood half block from "Super mercado Mega" on Avenida de la Cultura (great for late night snacks, bottled water) / just a short 3-4 sole (+/- $1) taxi ride to or from Plaza de Armas / center of Cusco. Rosa, who is very knowledgeable about her city and prices for services, met us at airport and arranged reasonably priced tour of Sacred Valley for our group of 8 ( 2 families w/ 4 teenagers - 4 rooms), wake-up calls and taxis on request, stored luggage during excursions to Puno & Machu Pichu and answered questions that helped make our 2 week visit a great experience. I stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. It's a great little place, family-run so lots of personalized service. Everyone was VERY friendly and VERY helpful. I really felt like home. Great value for money. A grocery store is right on the corner 1 minute away and a variety of local restaurants nearby. When I'm in Cusco again this is where I will be staying

I loved my 2 week stay at this place. The family that runs this place was incredibly helpful and friendly. They will get out of their way to help you get around and make your stay pleasant. This place is located where the locas live! It was great to get a better sense of the culture and everyday life of the locas rather than only seeing the typical touristy places. The neighborhood is safe and is close to transpotation, great food, and $1.50 cab ride away from the main square. breakfast is included and its amazing! comfortable clean rooms w/ cable, private bath and common space. I highly recommended!

In Casita, was a nice hotel at very good price. The staff were very friendly, however did not speak any English - though they do have Google Translator running to help out. The rooms were, all with private bathroom, hot water and good cable TV. A very large supermarket 100m away was perfect for us to be able to buy ready cooked food to bring back for a quiet dinner. There are about 8 rooms and a very nice little communal lounge with a large screen TV.

We had a night bus to Puno the day after our stay and not only did they keep our bags sfaely but allowed us to use a room to relax/rest in and watch TV after our sightseeing before the bus was due.

The hotel is definitely a taxi drive away from the centre of Cusco, but this is only about $3 for a taxi - make sure You take the address and phone number for the hotel or get the name of the supermarket as most taxi drivers do not know of it.

The only problem we had was that they forgot our pick-up at the train station when our late train from Machu Picchu came in. We ended up catching a taxi with no problems, but the potential for bigger problems did exist I suppose. If my Spanish had been better we may have been able to arrange a better alternative over the phone. I truly believe this to be an isolated incident and wouldn´t like it to mar a generally very good hotel.
