Owner description: Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the PeruRail Titicaca Train is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

I have been wanting to come to Peru most of my life and for my 50th it happened.
We went from Puno to Cusco on the train and as teh train pulled out and started to go round the lake this is when my adventure came alive and I got a bit emotional!
The train cannot be faulted - it is beautiful - all mahogany and brass (that includes the fab toilet!). we had a table for 2 which was perfect - romantic.
We were recommended by our guide to get to the back of the observation car ready for when the train left the first stop - excellent advice. You go through a market on the tracks for almost 15 mins! It is great seeing everyone putting their stalls back now the train has passed!
the scenery never stops amazing - from the lake views, to the high plateau and then coming down the valley getting more lush as you near Cusco.
there is entertainment in the bar carriage if you want it but for us the scenery was all we wanted.
The food and drink are fantastic - michellin quality. The service could not be faulted.
By the end of the journey you are full from all the constant food being brought and a bit squiffy from the drink -perfect!
DO NOT TRAVEL BETWEEN THESE CITIES ANY OTHER WAY!
I would recommend this to anyone and it ranks up there with Machu Picchu. It brought tears to my eyes several times because it was so perfect. I can't speak too highly of it.

Anyone interested in more detail, please contact me.

Took this train from Cusco to Puno. Started off with having to wait in waiting room that only had enough chairs for a small fraction of the passengers there. Had to sit on uncomfortable armchairs. A fellow passenger recieved multiple insect bites, most likely from the chair. I went into observation car at one stage & a child ran after the train for a bit - this was possible for the child as the train was so slow. The child then threw a rock into the train, via the open back deck, narrowly missing a passengers arm then a glass window. Although the child should not have done this, it is understandable given this train travels through towns, right in front of the locals homes, it is noisy & dangerous and this must be annoying for them. Also, they see what would appear to them to be well-healed, pampered tourists travelling along in apparent luxury that they have no access to. But the luxury is apparent, it is anything but luxurious. As I have said, the chairs are uncomfortable. The ride is known to be a bone shaker. The food is disgusting & the meal services lasted for hours. From the time the cutlery was first brought out until the end of the 'meal' was several hours. All of the food was stone cold when it arrived. The food was so dry it was difficult to eat. The portions were tiny which given the poor quality of the food was probably a blessing. The scenery was not great but I cannot blame the train company for that, however, it meant there was nothing worth looking at to pass the long, slow hours away. We were only 20 minutes late getting to Puno so we were among the lucky passengers. It seems it can be many hours late.
My advise it book the bus - a fraction of the price, hours quicker, goes along almost the same route as the train & stops in a few places so you see more. I have never been on a bus as uncomfortable as that train so the bus is most likely to most comfortable option as well.

My husband and two kids younger than ten had a wonderful time during the trip. It is quite a long trip but the staff is sure we have plenty to do during the trip. Even my kids had movies to watch and board games to play. One thing will be helpful is to have headphones for the kids to be able to listen better the movies.

We loved this train trip: the train is very special, a little like the Orient Express in Europe. Nice uniformed staff helps you carry your luggage. You are seated at a table with a white tablecloth and silver cutlery. Lovely "waitresses" service Pisco Sour and other cocktails, and ask you to choose your dinner, which is included in the train ticket price. In addition to the landscape around and the extraordinary city-crossing action, the train organizes a fashion show, cooking classes, not to mention a musical show with live andean musicians and ballet dancers!
