We really enjoyed this trek. Our guide Sam was extremely knowledgeable and gave us lots of inside information from his years of living in the area. Not only did we learn about and explore the ruins but we gained an understanding of local culture. It was also great to see the wildlife and explore the cloud forest. The food was also excellent - it was amazing to see what chef Evanhillio could create on a camp stove.

Thank Joy S

Absolutely loved our trip! Juan helped make everything during our stay perfect. He is an absolute wealth of knowledge about the area and history. We were able to see all of the important tourist locations with a local family feel. We appreciated the private style tours were because we were able to personalize our trip and do things on our own time schedule instead of being rushed being in a large group. Would definitely recommend!

Just returned from an incredible tour lead by Juan. By far every expectation was exceeded through this trip, for the passion and knowledge that he possesses is eveident in the way he communicates with the group. He is so patient and willing to answer any questions and provide you with greater insight into the ancient Perivian culture.
Nothing felt rushed on the tour, everything felt organic and authentic, we were treated like family and even had the priceless opportunity to spend time and be immersed within a Quechua community and really experience their daily lifestyle and understand how their culture lives on.
The tour was personal and honestly so rewarding. Thank you Juan for sharing your culture with us.
You deserve the very best.

From first considering the trip to arriving in Cusco to hiking the trail to Machu Picchu the experience with Juan and Apurimac was absolutely fantastic.

My friend and I booked a 4-day Salkantay Trek in January with Juan and could not have been happier with our decision. He made sure we were prepared for the trip, met with us when we arrived in Cusco, and was an awesome guide.

Everything was taken care of as Juan described including food, lodging, and the necessary paperwork for Machu Picchu and he was very flexible to help us make the most out of our trip.

I truthfully would recommend Juan and Apurimac to visitors of all ages and activity level as he took pride in tailoring the trek to make it the best for everyone.

Thank Todd J
