“Second Home, First Rate”

We stayed at second Home Cusco for a few days before our Inka Trek and another day on our return from Machu Picchu. Whether providing very early breakfast (cooked eggs included) prior to embarking on the trek or local knowledge on trips or restaurants Carlos was always on hand with his friendly manner and hospitality in abundance whenever needed. The B&B is conveniently located in the old section of the town close walking distance to all the town highlights. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Cusco make this your second home.

Carlos was a friendly, affable and helpful host. Breakfasts were outstanding. It is close to the San Blas neighborhood and a short walk to the center of Cusco. A terrific location if you don't mind an uphill hike back! Because of its small size, there are only a few guests, making Second Home a quiet and intimate place to stay. Our room (suite) was huge and comfortable.

I would definitely recommend Second Home Cusco. Carlos goes out of his way to make sure all needs are met. He cooks great breakfast and organized a trip to Machu PIcchu...even calling the guide to make sure we made it okay.

Room Tip: Skylight suite was great, but it is very bright so if you want to sleep in you might want to get a d...

We just stayed with Carlos for three nights, and it was the best part of our vacation. Cusco is beautiful, and Second Home is in a great location. Carlos is extremely helpful, and his hospitality is second to none. He always made us feel welcome, and gave great recommendations for food and outings (he arranged a great trip to Machu Picchu for us). If we return to Cusco, we will definitely stay with Carlos again.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep in, you might not want to choose the Skylight Suite as the sun rises early and...

We loved the 5 nights we stayed at Second Home Cusco! From the moment we arrived, Carlos was there to greet us and offer assistance. And that hospitality continued each and every day. I loved "coming home" each day and sharing our adventures with Carlos as he greeted us. The breakfasts were great, the room lovely, the bed comfortable, great hot showers, and we felt perfectly safe walking around the area. Every recommendation Carlos made for restaurants was excellent, and his advice on sights to see were spot on. We fell in love with Toby, the puppy who greeted us each morning. I can't say enough about Second Home Cusco. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Balcony Suite and loved it! Didn't see the other rooms but I am sure they are...

This place was run by Carlos during my visit last summer and he provided impeccable service from the time of my booking up to the end of my 3-day stay here. Carlos was a great host and I felt welcomed from the minute I checked in. He also offered great recommendations for places to eat and visit around the area. Carlos also organized my day trip to Machu Picchu saving me the time and inconvenience of going through an expensive booking agency. To help me see the sights around Cusco, Carlos connected me with a driver who spent a couple of hours showing me the key highlights in Cusco - it was amazing and my driver was extremely professional and courteous.

I could go on and on singing praises about Second Home Cusco! I would definitely return here and highly recommend it for any first time visitors to Cusco.

Room Tip: I stayed in a suite on the top floor and it was lovely!

We spent 5 nights at Second Home Cusco - 3 before our Inka Trail hike and 2 after the hike. Carlos the owner has made this place the perfect place to stay. It's comfortable, convenient, and the breakfasts were great. And the house puppy Toby is a nice touch! Carlos went out of his way to make our stay in Cusco memorable. He made restaurant reservations (some of the best in the country), booked drivers for us, and even got up at 4 am on the day of our hike to make coffee. Really top notch service. The rooms are cozy and spacious - all with original artwork on the walls. We couldn't ask for anything more. And the price was right - at least by American standards. It might be on the spendy side for Peru, but it's well worth it.
