You cannot go wrong staying at Second Home Cusco!!

I e-mailed ahead of time and arranged for a pick-up from the airport and it could not have gone smoother. The hotel is a gorgeous home in a safe area just a few blocks from the center of town.

The room was very very comfortable with cable televison, wireless access, a kitchen, large shower and bathroom and sitting area with skylights.

You are in a safe area with many restaurants and shops nearby. When I first arrived I had a bit of a headache due to the change in altitude but the staff was extremely friendly and provided me with cocoa tea and that hit the spot.

I would stay here again and again and again when back in Cusco.

My thanks to Carlos for all of his help!

The place is clean and nice. It was warm and the staff was terrific! Spend the extra $50 of whatever it is to stay here instead of a hostel of one of the "budget hotels". Better value than the expensive hotels that are more than $200. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone!

Cons - I stayed in the balcony suite, and it had a skylight. So, it gets very bright in the room, very early in the morning. It's a street where cars can't go, which is cool, but it was a tiny bit scary at night, because there weren't a lot of people on the street when we went home at night. The last con is, be prepared to pay in cash. When we got there, they told us the boss preferred we pay in cash. I told them we didn't have enough and needed to pay with credit card. The next day, they told us the credit card machine was broken because another couple tried to pay with credit card and it didn't work. I asked them to try it with our card. They then called the boss to ask him if it was ok. They then tried to swipe my card and after about 15 minutes of trying to figure out how the machine worked (they told me they don't usually use the machine), it worked. Which leads me to believe they were not telling the truth about another couple who tried to pay, and it wouldn't work...you'd think they knew how to use the machine if someone else tried to pay earlier. I hate to say anything bad about this place of the staff. It really wasn't a big problem, and i was able to pay with credit card, but i'd like to let others know about this. In NOway, did it turn me off to the hotel or amazingly friendly and nice staff.

Pros - nice clean room, bathroom, and shower and living room. Great staff. Very quiet location. Comfortable room and stay. DEFINITELY recommended, especially since there are a lot of crappy options in Cusco. This is worth it.

We absolutely loved staying at Second Home Cusco! The owner, Carlos recently renovated this building to create a small B&B with 3 rooms. He did such a great job, its cute, cozy, and charming! It is a great location within Cusco, walking distance from everything, but set back from the noise and hussle and bussle of this little city. Carlos makes a fantastic breakfast every morning, where you have an opportunity to meet the other guests. We really enjoyed that part, the food, coffee, and conversation were great! Carlos was very helpful in setting up tours of the sacred valley. He arranged the day for us, it was incredible and the tour guide was great. He also recommended some fantastic restaurants in town. Carlos was a spectacular host and it was a pleasure to stay at his B&B!

We are seasoned travellers, and have travelled around the world. This is one of the true gems! Carlos made it effortless, picking us up at the airport, and then making arrangements for tours of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. He listened to what we were interested in and instructed the guides to cater our tours accordingly. The rooms are spacious, clean with breakfasts plentiful. Spent a great deal of time with us giving us recommendations on restaurants etc, which were great. Don't waste your time, or money looking for anything else!

This place is like heaven. Wonderful, informative and supportive staff, great rooms and comfort. We arrived in the middle of a rainstorm with 2 sick travelers and I felt at home immediately. The staff is attentive without hovering. We were able to use the refrigerator to store our food. Also, they were very flexible with breakfast times to suit our schedules. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

We stayed at Second Home Cusco for 6 nights on the first part of our month long Peru trip and then returned for two nights before departing to Arequipa. The first morning we arrived, it was very early and Adriana was there with coca tea and maps to get us oriented. They then got our room ready quickly so that we could check in early and rest the first day. Completely unexpected and what a wonderful welcome! Two days later we met Carlos (he had just returned from Lima) and he instantly welcomed us and made us feel so at home. The hospitality here is simply amazing- they really go above and beyond to help you find the best places to eat, set you up with terrific tour guides and drivers (if you speak Spanish, go with Domingo!) to take you around to all the historic sites, and tell you all about the secrets of Cusco you don't want to miss.
The breakfasts are a great time to chat with other guests and to get to know Carlos and Adriana, so you definitely don't want to skip it! We will be back and until then, thank you for giving us such warm and wonderful memories!!

We stayed for two nights at Second Home Cusco and can't stay enought about Carlos Delfin, the proprietor. We actually were going to stay for 3 nights but our flight was delayed and Carlos graciously allowed us to pay for two nights instead. When we came, he was there waiting with some Coca tea and advice on what to see and do. Carlos lived in and ran a bed and breakfast in Manhattan so he has the experience to run a professional operation and it shows. Our room was spotless and very nicely appointed (flat screen TV) and we always had fresh orange juice for breakfast. Carlos did a great job organizing private tours for us and when I forgot my electric shaver when we checked out, one of his staff met us at the airport to drop it off.

I also would recommend staying at Second Home Lima. This beautiful home, located on property overlooking the ocean is occupied by his father the famous artist Victor Delfin and run by his sister.
