“Great value, friendly staff, amazing view!”
Reviewed 16 November 2011

We stayed here in September 2011 as a couple and had a GREAT experience. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. As soon as we arrived, they offered us hot coca tea as we checked in. Our room was very clean and tidy. We even had a small flat screen tv to watch on a rainy day and free wi-fi. We headed up to the balcony on the 4th floor and had an amazing view of Cusco! I think the kitchen chef cooked constantly, but she was very quiet in the evenings as she prepped for the next day. The breakfast was VERY good with many options to choose from and we also enjoyed the happy hour in the lobby one night.
This hotel is up in the San Blas area. It was a little difficult to find, our taxi driver did not know where exactly it was and we got dumped off in the Tanda Pata square. I did see taxis go up the road to the hotel, but there were very few and I think they were ones that had been arranged through the hotel staff. It would be worth calling to get some directions before you go.
This was a great spot to head toward Machu Picchu from as a taxi came and picked us up early in the morning to take us to the train station. The Plaza de Armas was within walking distance and there were so many shops and restaurants along the way, we walked everywhere! I would highly recommend to travelers without families. I think that sound carries quite easily and that a family with children might be heard by many guests. In addition, with all the walking, it may be hard for children to make the trek. All in all, a fabulous stay!

Room Tip: The 4th (top) floor was beautiful if you don't mind the hike!

The hotel was quaint was a great entrance, terrace and gardens. Our room afforded a wonderful view of the city. The staff was amazing! The food was good. You can't go wrong with this motel. Did I mention we had a massage here as well? Try the Inka massage with hot stones. Totally relaxing.

We stayed here for one night, but wish we had substituted our night in Aguas Calientes for this hotel. Aguas Calientes is full of terrible dumps that overcharge and is only worth it if you really want to beat the crowd into Machu Picchu and have pictures of the park without random tourists in the background.

We enjoyed this cute little hotel with a beautiful garden and good views of the city. It is about a 10 minute walk from the main plaza, so travelers preferring to be in the heart of shopping and dining may not think it ideal. However, we didn't mind and thought the view was worth the trade-off.

The staff is incredibly friendly and worked with us when we had a passport issue and therefore Peruvian sales tax issue. The continental breakfast in the morning is great, with made-to-order omlettes, cereals, breads, fruit, cheese, juice, and coffee. We enjoyed the happy hour in the warmth of the fire in the lobby.

Our room was pre-heated for us, which was nice after a cold day. The rooms are cozy, with simple and clean furnishing. Unlike the moldy and bug-filled bathrooms of Aguas Calientes, the bathrooms at Encantada were modern and clean. The walls were somewhat thin and the hardwood floor a bit creaky, which might be a problem for extra-light sleepers. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, so handicapped or elderly travelers may prefer the 2nd floor rooms.

Absolutely loved this quaint little boutique hotel and would recommend it to our friends. Located up the hill from other hotels but worth the extra steps. Tucked into a hillside, it is away from the city noise and blessed with outstanding city views. The tasteful decorations blend nicely with the ambience of Cusco. The extremely nice and efficient staff caters to your every need. The building is older as most all Cusco hotels are with creaky floor boards and small quarters. Rooms are updated, clean, have very comfortable beds, hot showers with good water pressure. We had a matrimonal suite 3rd floor with a balcony. Never heard other guests. Stayed 3 nights, then trekked to Machu Picchu. They stored luggage with no problems. Stayed a 4th night upon return from our trek. They arranged taxi pick-ups and always had someone around 24/7 to assist guests. It helps to have some basic spanish speaking skills to communicate.
Yes there are stairs and more stairs. The elevation takes getting used to, so walk slowly. But after returning from the trek I was running up the stairs with no breathing problems.
I found it to be a much nicer hotel than other options in the same range. We will definitely stay here again.
Stayed September 2011. Evenings were cool and damp. Daytime was sunny and warm.

This is a great hotel with wonderful views and lots of character. The showers were hot and had great pressure. The only downside is getting taxis to come on their street since the roads are narrow. However, we could get them to the plaza and then take a short walk from there. The hotel is modern and the breakfast is really good. Very friendly staff.

We were a group of 5 friends needing 2 rooms - 1 double and 1 triple. The 4th floor of this hotel was perfect for us as it had a triple and a double along with a private balcony with table and chairs. If you can get the 4th floor, it's worth the walk up (there are no elevators). The beds are very comfortable with warm comforters, room heaters, tvs, hair dryers (request at front desk), and new/clean bathrooms with great hot showers. We were greeted by staff with a cup of coca tea and they carried our luggage up to the 4th floor. One night we wanted drinks for "happy hour" on our private balcony. They brought them up to the 4th floor for us. Breakfast was very good and pretty extensive compared to other hotels. We had rolls, toast, omelets made to order, meats/cheeses, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee and tea. The location of the hotel is great - it's not right in the middle of the square but is close by and is in a good/safe neighborhood.

My advice for anyone traveling to Cusco is to bring a pair of earplugs. No matter where you stay there seems to be noise from animals, all night parties (not sure what the occasion was), etc.

You may get a better rate by calling the hotel directly rather than booking online. Staff there speak pretty good English, so you may want to give that a try first. You may also get a free transfer to/from the airport if you book over the phone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor if you are okay with twin beds (double and a triple).

We were recently on a group tour in Peru and we were booked by the tour group into a hotel on the Plaza de Armas. The original hotel lacked hot water, had small dark rooms and we decided we needed to "upgrade" in order to enjoy Cusco. We found Encantada Casa Boutique on Trip Advisor and booked rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were lovely, very comfortable beds and bedding, a radiator type heater was in the room. Included in the rate was breakfast which included home made breads and rolls, omelets, yogurt and fruits. The hotel is situated at the top of San Blas and affords a great view of Cusco. Highly recommend this hotel. It was our best hotel experience in Peru!!
