We ate in wonderful restaurants, some very small and some very quaint. We had two chefs in Urumbamba and Ollayatatambo (sp? too lazy to look up right now) show us how to prepare some classic peruvian dishes, then paired the meal with South American wines...both chefs were wonderful and meals divine. We also took a cooking class from a local sponsored by the Heart Cafe in Ollantay and we went to the local market, bought all the food, went to a local's home and helped prepare in a classic peruvian home kitchen which included the cuy pen--barely covered w/ a board--that could opt as a bench. Great experience.
