We stayed here for 4 nights and then another night after doing the Inca Trail. As in Lima, the driver was not there to pick us up. We had to have someone call the hotel to find out if someone was coming. Someone did show up 30 minutes later.

The hotel is not too far from the main plaza. You can easily get around town. The staff were friendly and Jackie was very helpful and answered all our questions.

The rooms (and the entire hotel) were very clean. Staff were constantly cleaning and scrubbing. The breakfast was good. There was a variety of fruit, cereal and they made eggs at your request. They also had different fresh fruit juices every day.

If you are looking for something nice and affordable I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

This charming Andean hotel provided a perfect place to stay while in Cusco and use as a central base for our 4-day trek to Machu Picchu and a trip to Lago Titicaca. Located in the San Blas neighborhood it was more private, yet an easy walk to the center. San Blas Plaza is not to be missed. The rooms are great, and I agree with other reviews, all rooms make your visit very pleasant. I arrived solo, speaking little Spanish and I was immediately welcomed and made comfortable. Upon the arrival of my niece the next day we pre-booked the larger room with fireplace. It was perfect. It was not noisy like other reviews mentioned and the hosts willingly made fires each night. The breakfast was delicious with huevos to order. The staff is very professional, kind, bi-lingual and made a concerted effort to satisfy our every need. The airport pick-up made our arrivals & departure very easy. They safely stored our luggage while on the trek and while we visited Lago Titicaca. It is very clean and we always had hot water. There were portable heaters in each room, which was necessary because in July it is cool at night. I was told they intend to install central heating in 2014 which would be a bonus. This hotel met all our expectations and more. Without a doubt, I highly recommend it as top choice in Cusco and Peru, and would definitely stay there on another visit to Cusco.

Room Tip: We slept in both the double and superior room with fireplace. Both were comfortable and quiet. We w...

Here are the virtues of Andenes Al Cielo, Cusco:
Good security, English-speaking, serves coca leaf tea upon arrival and anytime, very clean spotless, walk up to rooms on 2nd and 3rd floors, lovely indoor courtyard, nice breakfast room on 3rd floor serving eggs cooked to order, fresh small selection of local foods and fresh rolls, pretty rooftop terrace with great views of Cusco, modest rooms, on a small major street, boutique hotel with local flavour.

Room Tip: The double matrimonial room is a double bed, the larger room has two doubles but otherwise the same...

We stayed here on the recommendation of Pachamama Explorers, as part of our four day trek on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The hotel was very clean, well appointed, and the staff took care of every detail of our departure and return. Breakfast is included, and the ubiquitous coca leaves were provided in the lobby, along with an oxygen tank. The hotel is secured by an iron gate, and the interior courtyard was a nice place to talk with other visitors or just read a book.

Room Tip: Cusco is at 11,300', so climbing stairs was a challenge. The second floor was very nice for our...

Andenes al Cielo is in the perfect location to explore Cusco-- minutes from Plaza de Armas and minutes from San Blas. The hotel is lovely and we especially liked our spacious room with a fireplace. The staff was very helpful in making dinner reservations for us, etc.. And the internet is excellent here as well. I felt that the photos on tripadvisor did not show off how pretty of a hotel that this is.

The only reason that I did not give this property an excellent rating is because it did not honor the terms of our reservation with them. We were traveling with our children and required two rooms. I specifically asked that the rooms be next to each other and was told by the hotel that they would accommodate this request. When we arrived at the hotel, the rooms were on different floors. I showed the front desk the emails in which the hotel confirmed that the rooms would be next to each other but she said she could not do this as all the other rooms were full. She did offer to move our children's room the next day. My husband spoke with the manager and he said that he would give us a discount on the rooms. Our youngest son did not want to be so far from us so he ended up spending all three nights in our room :(. And the hotel gave us a $10 flat discount. The lady at the front desk could see that we were surprised by the very modest discount and offered to pay our taxi to the airport (which was about $10).

Bottom line: the hotel told us that it never promises rooms will be near each other (although I showed her that the hotel did make this promise in writing). So if you require rooms to be next to each other, you should go to a different hotel.

And finally the hotel adds a 3.5% credit card fee if you want to charge your room. We were not told of this and fortunately had enough USD with us.

Room Tip: the rooms with the fireplace are a very nice size!!!

There's a one bedroom apartment on the top floor of the Andenes al Cielo, and it includes 1.5 bathrooms, a small kitchen, a living room (with fireplace), and a small enclosed porch.

It's actually a lovely apartment (with great views and nice decorations), and it affords one the benefits of the hotel (such as breakfast buffet and front desk service), while providing more space and privacy.

IF you rent the apartment, I would advise emailing the hotel manager a week or so before your arrival to remind him of your reservation. We didn't do that, and unfortunately the hotel was not prepared for (or expecting) our arrival -- i.e. our promised ride from the train station was not waiting for us, and the apartment was not ready for our occupancy. Yikes! But the hotel quickly realized its mistake, and all was forgiven.

Aside from the above mishap, the Andenes al Cielo is a great place to stay in Cusco. It's location is ideal. The apartment was spacious, there was satellite TV and free wireless, and the breakfast buffet was nice. The apartment is also quiet, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water for shower. And lastly, the hotel manager and staff are nice and helpful.

During our stay, Cusco was a bit cold and rainy (which, I'm guessing, might be a bit unusual), and thus the apartment was quite cold. There are three heating radiators in the apartment, but they operate on a timer, and even when they were on, the apartment was too cold. However, if the weather would have been a bit warmer, this probably would not have been an issue.

Despite the mixup over our arrival/reservation and the cold, I'd still recommend the Andenes al Cielo and its apartment. It's a wonderful building in the middle of a very vibrant city.

I spent 3 Nights at the Andenes al Cielo 3 hotel with my mother in June 2013. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. This is a small local hotel and staff is very friendly. There is a lovely ambiance with a charming quaint lobby which opens to sky roof. Although the open roof does make for a cool to cold night in June and there is no heat adjustment in the rooms. I stayed in a corner room, which the only window is in the door. There is a small curtain to pull over the door but it takes much maneuvering to have full concealment. The doors have a double lock which a key is used, and it was very difficult to maneuver, but secure. The rooms do have hot water in the shower :) There is no elevator and the breakfast is served on the 3rd floor. The breakfast was fairly average with rolls, fresh eggs and a variety of fruit. The hotel is in a great location with a short 10 minute walk from the main square.
