Hotel was chosen by our tour agency. First impression was very good as the boutique hotel, though small, was very pretty and the staff were very friendly. Huge room, Peruvian styled and not those modern design. Comfortable and very clean, huge bed. We were in the room on the first level, named Shipova Twin. Very convenient. Point for improvement: water pressure can be stronger. Note that if you are a light sleeper, you can be woken up at about 5am every morning by the sound of bells. The hotel is not located on the main square (Plaza de Armas) but it's a short walk (maybe about 3 blocks away) which is a comfortable walk. It is very safe to walk around the city center, even at night. Breakfast is simple fare, we don't need much so we were very satisfied with scrambled eggs/omelette, ham, toasted bread and fruits. Of course there are also juices. And the hotel provides free flow of coca tea and Sorojchi pills help with altitude sickness. Overall, service is excellent and we felt very welcome.

We were there only one night but the stay was amazing! We stayed in the Illary Room, which has a Jacuzzi, fresh flowers, great light, and one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept on. The Mandela Lounge (named after Nelson Mandela) has a cozy fireplace--one not to be missed as you sip on a Pisco Sour while using up your complimentary cocktail tickets. ;)

Stayed at the Andean Wings for three nights, could not have asked for a better experience! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - especially when I suffered from severe altitude sickness on my first night. Hotel itself is beautiful, in a great location, just blocks away from the main square.

This hotel exceeded all our expectations for location and service. The staff was very helpful arranging an all day private tour with the driver Billy Auaya and his English speaking guide Rueben. We were so glad we had this tour which included the animal sanctuary and the Pisac and Ollantaytambo ruins. We stayed three nights at the hotel, one night at Machu Picchu and then again back to this hotel. They were very accommodating in storing our luggage while we went to Machu Picchu since only limited luggage can be taken on that trip. This was a great place to see Cusco and experience more of Peru.

The Andean Wings was our home in Cusco for seven nights spread over three separate occasions between our Salkantay hike and our tours around the Sacred Valley. The staff were wonderful, friendly and kind, and made us feel so much at home, it was hard to say goodbye when we left for the last time. They stored our bags during our hike, and were solicitous for our every comfort. The location was great, so close to the main square, and both rooms we stayed in were great. The daily included breakfast was excellent, and lunch and dinner were also good. Although we usually went out for lunch and dinner, it was nice not having to, once in a while. The hotel desk worked well with our tour operators to ensure that all went as planned.

Contrary to an earlier review, the hotel does provide coca tea and other kinds of tea as well, any time of the day or night. If the water is not hot enough, they are quick to replace it upon request.

A special hello to our favourite waiter, Liz! You made our stay even more special.

Staff was super helpful. We visited before and after our salcantay hike. They held our bags for us during the trip, packed to go lunches for you if you leave early, and helped arrange dining in the city. We even had a free room upgrade. The only negative was that we could hear everything that was outside our door, the 1st room was small, so we only noticed it there. Luckily there aren't that many guests at the hotel so you shouldn't be disturbed.
