I love the chance to help out sustainable projects and charities when I am able. This sounded like an excellent organization that ran a great place to stay to help fund their programs that work with domestic workers that come to Cusco and end up being exploited. I definitely recommend watching the short video so you can see what they are about. Now, onto my stay...
So after a long train journey from Puno and a late arrival I experienced their outstanding service right away. I plopped down my 45 kilo backpack and was offered a Coca tea. They led me to the kitchen where I enjoyed a nice tea and when I returned to the office I was given my key and told my bag was already brought up the 3 flights of stairs into my room. Such a pleasant change not having to lug that heavy bag to a hostel room for a change.
I then found out they offered family style communal meals for 25 Soles a night. I was extremely happy that I didn't have to go anywhere to find dinner. I highly recommend the meals, they are extremely good and filling and it is great to chat with whomever happens to be at the table that night. If you don't speak Spanish or Italian though it may a little awkward but give it a try anyways. It is also a very short walk to the Plaza de Armas.
My room had a great view of Cusco and was very comfortable. The pillows was a little thin for me but just ask and they are happy to give you an extra one. Fortunata was also extremely helpful arranging trips and giving me overall good advice and directions about Cusco. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here if I ever make it back to Cusco. Keep up the good work!
