On arrival we got a 3p room, while we booked a junior suite with a mezzanine. While we came back from a trip and were very tired it took me a couple of minutes to realize this was not the room i booked, so went back to reception.
They then gave us the big suite, what was a really really nice room, with a whirlpool, giant bed etc.
Breakfast was very good, with al lot of choice.
We had asked for a late check out and that was no problem. Onthe website we were informed that airport service was included. when we asked they said it was only airport-hotel and not hotel-airport. When we checked later this was not mentioned on the site, we only had to pay a little amount but is no good service.
We had mixed feelings about our stay although we really liked our suite and breakfast.

Extremely disappointed and very upset!!! Tambo is a scam!!! I had booked two rooms at Tambo, then emailed several times with Victor, the manager. I had concerns about storing our luggage while we went to Machu Pichu, a late checkin when coming back from Machu Pichu, and we were in need of a contact for a tour director. Victor was VERY accommodating in the emails - he assured me we could store our luggage at Tambo, he assured me that our room was confirmed and he assured me that he would hold the room for our late arrival. He also recommended an excellent tour director. When we arrived in Cusco late in the evening our driver was told NOT to take us to Tambo, but to take us to another hotel where our luggage had been moved by Victor without notice! According to the staff at Tambo, Victor overbooks frequently and then shifts the bookings to another hotel and the guest is NOT notified until they arrive. This was scary late in the evening in a foreign country. Victor tried to convince me this was a "glitch" in hotels.com's system. But it is not. He personally confirmed in several emails with me and hotels.com confirmed. We had no choice but to stay where Victor had moved us because every hotel we called was booked. Come to find out nearly half of that hotel's rooms were filled by guests that Victor had transferred from Tambo. Victor runs a scam and hotels.com should do something about this. Trip Advisor needs to lower Tambo's rating.

In a town long on hopes and service but a little short on offerings, this hotel stands out and shines. Excellent staff and treatment as you find in all of Cusco in particular and in Peru in general. However, the ambiance, quiet location and room quality all stand out in this hotel. We stayed in an Executive Suite and were extremely happy with our choice. The rooms were extremely clean and service was top-notch. Please do try this hotel - you will not regret it!

we spent a week in Cusco and this hotel was perfect. the room was huge and so was the bathroom. The staff were really friendly and helpful - breakfast was delicious and they provided us breakfast even when we got up at 4.30am to go on our trek. They looked after our bags for 4 days when we were trekking and we felt they were very safe. It's about 5 minutes walk from the city centre which was perfect for us. overall we would highly recommend.

This hotel is excellent, and so are the prices. Boh guys at the front desk (Victor and Guido) helped me whenever I asked for directions or the location of a vegetarian restaurant. Each time Doris (housekeeping) cleaned the roomm she left two water botles by he sink (free of charge). The helped me choose a tour company (Tari Tours) and gave me safty tips, being a young woman travelling alone. I enjoyed it very much! Kudos!
