Owner description: South Adventure Peru Tours is a family-owned business, created 15 years ago by Ruben & Tatiana. We decided to make use of our experience and knowledge to open our Tour Agency so that we could provide the highest quality tours around South Peru; but there was also an opportunity for us to help many of the young people in Cusco starting their careers and to provide some of the poorer communities around the Cusco Region with revenue to help sustain their livelihoods. We specialise in Extended and Family tours around South Peru. We will take you to the most stunning regions such as Ica Region, Paracas Reserve, Nazca City, Colca Canyon, Lares Valley, Ballestas Island, Lake Titicaca and of course to many of the stunning historical Incan sites such as the famous Machu Picchu, Choquequirao, Sacred Valley and more. Our team visits and thoroughly investigates all destinations, services and amenities featured on our luxury tours to Peru so we can be sure we are offering the best quality, services and price for you. We welcome you to Peru and Cusco and hope that you will embrace our ethos and have a great time while you are here with us.

“Great experience”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

My husband started looking for tours to Cusco a few weeks before traveling. South Adventure Peru Tours had great reviews, so we tried it. It is a little pricier thank others but well worth it.
Staff was reachable online to help us tailored the tour to our needs and likes, they worked with us so promptly and kindly, and once we arrived to Cusco everything went smoothly, as planned.
All tour guides spoke English very well, and were very knowledgeable about the history, hotels & transportation was as described and very reliable. We loved their choice of buffet lunch, great variety of food and classy. Everything was top class, including train ride, Vistadome.
We will definitely be back to Cusco, so much more to see and not enough time, and we will contact SAPT.

“Great, friendly, carefree tour to fit your need.”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Thanks to Tripadvisor, where I can find a tour agent with 5*****.
The manager, Ruben is very good and quick to response our enquiry no matter via email or telephone call. He give very useful and progressional knowledge to our tour planning, fulfilling our need by giving us a custom-made private vacation in Peru, including 4 adults and two child. Everything is well-planned and their representative or tour guide will always be there to make our trip great success.

“Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

South Adventure Peru Tours provided a very enjoyable tour for us, 2 adults and 2 kids. 3 days touring Inca ruins outside of Cusco and in the Sacred Valley, and culminating at Machu Picchu. Our guide, Virgilio, spoke good English and provided interesting, in-depth, and detailed information that gave meaning to the beautiful sights we saw. His passion and deep interest in Inca history and culture were evident, and he eager to please. We camped one night near a small set of ruins, which was also the backyard of someone's village hut - not exactly pristine nature, but it was fun (and very cold!).
At one stop, there ensued a misunderstanding between our guide and our driver, which resulted in us waiting for 1.5 hours for the driver to arrive - a disappointing lack of communication, but we really believe this was a fluke, one-time incident. We were in touch with Ruben during this incident, and Ruben was concerned and tried to help fix the situation. There were a few other instances where we felt that our guide should have been better at explaining to us where he was going and what exactly was going to happen next. Also, the Hotel Incanti in Aguas Caliente was surprisingly subpar; the towels felt like sandpaper and it generally felt like barely a one-star establishment. But these are relatively minor criticisms of an otherwise wonderful experience. Ruben was also kind enough to have his staff drive us to the Cusco airport at the end of our trip.

“Efficient, works hard”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

South Adventure Peru Tours did everything for us they said they would and more: hotels, an Amazon tour, a tour around Cusco, a car ride up the Sacred Valley of the Inca's, a train ride on the Vista Dome (what an experience!) to Macchu Pichu; they took us to the bus to go to Puno on Lake Titicaca. In Puno they took us to the boat tour of the lake and the floating islands and another non-floating island and they took us to the airport in Juliaca to fly back to Lima and home. When they said they would meet us they did.
Ruben (the owner) is conscientious, thorough and knows his stuff.
His guides are passionate and knowledgeable; they know their stuff; they know the timetable and they know the roadside attractions. We were given fantastic tours around Cusco and had some fantastic buffet lunches.
There were no real problems. I would tell you if you need a hotel with an elevator you need to tell Ruben because most of the hotels had no elevators. In Aguas Calientes where you have to stay the night before you do Macchu Pichu if you're plannning an early start (the buses start up to Macchu Pichu at 5:30AM and there's already a big line) we had a terrible hotel. Hotel Incanto Boutique was substandard: some minor mold on the ceiling and the shower, very worn bed quilts, a cold water faucet that went in both directions but you could turn it off if you jiggled it. And in Puno the hotel, (Qelqatani), was very nice, lovely lobby, a block from the main street, complimentary candy and water bottles, wonderful staff, nice breakfast but our room #303 in the back was above a disco that was so loud Friday night until 5:00AM,horrible. It does have a nice elevator, but don't take room 303.
