This is a very nice, clean hotel. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful when we needed assistance with cabs or dinner recommendations. The location is slightly farther from the Plaza de Armas than the other Tierra Viva but the walk was not bad at all. Especially since the uphill walk is much more gradual and not quite as steep as the other Tierra Viva. Our group stayed in 2 rooms, both with courtyard views. Our room didn't have any outside windows that could be opened, which was the only complaint I had with the room. The beds were comfortable, sheets and towels clean, bathroom very well equipped. And hot water in the sink and shower! I had previously stayed at the other Tierra Viva and in comparison I think the view from that hotel is preferable since there is no real view from the courtyards of the Saphi.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms don't have the ability to open the windows if you prefer fresh air.

NIce hotel quite central in Cusco. The hotel is not very big but it is quite good. The rooms are not the biggest I have seen, but they worked perfect. The beds are quite big and the rooms are very clean. The service is good and the staff try to help a lot. Very good value for your money.

We enjoyed our stay in this charming hotel with friendly staff. However, the first room we were given (105) was small and had no windows so we asked to move and were given the suite (212), which was great! Everything in the room (furnishings, toiletries, etc) were of a high standard. The breakfast buffet was very good. Hotel is in a safe location, just a few doors from a police station! Handy grocery shop next door. 5-6 minutes' walk to the main square. Free wi-fi available. Pucara restaurant at bottom of street very average with unfriendly/surly staff, poor atmosphere - also quite run-down. Chicha restaurant round corner and in a small square off main one was superb - atmosphere, staff and cuisine all excellent!

Room Tip: Room 105 has no windows. The only suite is room 212 - very nice. Free wifi available.

As has been stated by many others, this is a great hotel to stay at in Cusco. The rooms are lovely, the bed is huge, the location is convenient for walking to most of the sights and the staff are really friendly and helpful. We were picked up from the airport by a driver arranged by the hotel, even though our flight was diverted due to weather problems and we arrived much later than planned. We were charmed by Peru in general, and by this hotel. What a lovely introduction to the friendliness and warmth of the people of Peru

This hotel is great!
However, you should check Jesus, the tour operator who works with the two Tierra Viva hotels in Cusco. We ended up buying our Machu Picchu package from him, but in hindsight we could have done much better in terms of price. Also the guide we received from him in Machu Picchu was not good and gave us only 1 hr and 20 minutes of tour instead of the promised 2-3 hr.
