“A great hostel a must visit”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

The wildrover was the best hostel I visited whilst travelling around the world.

Every night there was a different theme for the evening entertainment which consisted of great music and drinking games. Which got the whole bar singing and dancing together.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with days out within Cusco.

During the day you can relax in the TV room with comfy bean bags, surf the bet in good wifi, eat their fantastic food, watch sports or carry on drinking with the friends you met from the previous night.

A great stay, friendly, helpful, cheap, comfy beds, great food and awesome entertainment.

Can't wait to come back and visit again.

Thanks Wildrover for some amazing memories

I stayed at this hostel in a private bedroom for 6 nights.
The hostel is really well organized. The common areas are well thought to accomodate for the guests needs.
Let's start with the good:
- the food is really fantastic and is great value vs what you pay in the city
- the location of the hostel is very convenient as it is 5min away from the center
- the hotel is secure. There is a guard at the door 24/7
- the staff is nice and helpful
- they host great parties at the bar
- the beds are comfortable
- there are quite a few activities to do in the hostel (pool, ping pong, sport broadcast, etc...)
- the place is really good value for money.

Now, what's not so great
- as the place is a party place, it is very very loud at night. They have a "no talking in hallways after 10pm policy" that is obviously not respected by anyone. You will be regularly awaken by screaming people in the middle of the night. Bring your earplugs if you want to sleep.
Simarly, if you stay in the private bedrooms on the ground floor, you will be awake at 7.00am when the staff starts service and speak loudly in the hallways and carry countless bags of trash / empty beer bottles, etc, early in the morning. If you want to rest before an early hike or something like that, it will be a challenge.
- the bedrooms are quite small and have no windows
- the private bathrooms are very small, dated and dirty
- the common showers aren't much bigger
- there is hardly any hot water. At best, you will shower with lukewarm water
- the wifi hardly ever works
- they charged by a little bit more than the advertised price at checkout
- people don't respect the "no smoking" signs and smoke in hallways and in the bar (when closed) which makes it uncomfortable for non-smokers.
- you can only pay in local currency and cash. They don't take dollars or credit cards

I would still recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and looking for a place to party while visiting cusco.

Room Tip: I don't knwo about shared dorms, but if you are booking a private room, don't take 112 or 11...

I had the pleasure of staying here twice and it is easily one of the best hostels I ever stayed in, THE comfiest beds had the pleasure of sleepng in on my year round South America, amazing staff Colm and Liam will forever be legends they went out of their way to be helpful and helped made the amazing atmosphere the hostel maintains. The bar is great with various themed nights (watch out for the lethal hour of power!) with good value food, After spending nearly two weeks there I eventually found an escape only to find myself walking through the doors again months later. So if you find yourself in Cusco and wanting to party this is the spot for you!

Several friends told me to stay at the Wild Rover Cusco and it didn´t disappoint. We planned to stay for a week and ended up there for almost 2 weeks. The staff are brilliant, its extremely clean, food and drinks are great and the beds are super comfy. As a couple, this was a great place for us to meet other people and just have fun. The travel desk is great too for booking trips and experiences. The location is excellent, just a short stroll to the main plaza. Can´t recommend this place enough to backpackers in search of a fun time in Cusco!

AWESOME Hostel. I had previously heard of the legend that is The Wild Rover hostel and I finally was lucky enough to stay. I can say it surpassed all expections! This place has something to offer everyone whether its partying (which these guys must have PhD´s in), organising your Cusco adventures or just chilling with fellow travellers. There is a wonderful family feel about the Wild Rover so you won´t feel isolated if travelling alone. The staff couldn´t have been more friendly or helpful and really contribute to making your stay a GREAT one. The internal travel desk is also a huge plus and the staff there are fantastic, the beds are super comfy and the room are always really clean as well. If you want to make the most of your travelling experience, this is the place to stay in Cusco. The only negative thing is once you stay here it´s difficult to leave! I´ll laugh about my time spent here for a long time to come -Thank you Wild Rover!

Was here in January and came back again for Paddy's day!

It's great if you are looking for a party. The beds are super comfy and food is served all day. It's great if after being around South America you are looking for some long missed home comforts. The staff is super friendly and fun! Defo recommend as a place to meet people and hang out with friends!

This is a horrible option for a couple, i guess if you are traveling solo or with a group of friends it could be concidered a fun place but after being in cusco for a couple of weeks i can honestly say DONT STAY HERE if you are looking for a private room.. It's small, dirty and has no windows..
The common area is closed at 22:00 and people are not allowed to be there... But the bar is open until very late.. Its very loud and if you don't smoke you have nothing to do there.. So they close the common area because they want people to go to the bar.. And to finish it off.. They start making lots of noise very early in the morning (7:30) and the walls are like paper... So if you are looking for a clean quiet room for a reasonable price- i recommend "feel at home hostel" its way better!! And same price range :)
