Nestled on a hill about 5 mins walk from the main centre of Cuzco. It was clean and had comfortable beds. No heaters but the staff were willing to provide extra thick blankets. Free Coco tea and Coffee. Good WIFI connection in the common area and rooms next to the common area. Super hot water. Breakfast was average bread, jams, coffee and tea.For a few extra coins you could purchase eggs. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not a party hostel. Easy to meet people.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The hostel is named after the sacred peak Mama Simona – the only female mountain deity among twelve others surrounding Cusco. Mama Simona Hostel is like a good conversation over a cup of coca tea rather than a wild party; a comfortable and welcoming refuge away from the standard “just-another-hostel” kind of place; simple wooden furniture and lots of room rather than cramped kitschy interiors. Staying with Mama Simona is like being invited into the warmth of a Peruvian home. ... more less
