“Family Suite is fantastic.”
Reviewed 16 July 2012

Whether you need it or not, spend the little extra to get the family suite on the end overlooking the courtyard and city. It was the best room by a mile. We had 3 rooms over 2 different stays with multiple people.
The staff are fantastic, really helpful!
The views are beautiful.
Breakfast was simple but fresh and ample.
The rooms were frsh and clean.
the bedding was crisp and comfortable.

A couple of things to aware of:

1. You cant access it by vehicle. You have to walk a couple/few hundred metres up stairs. No problem, just something to be aware of if you have mobility issues.
2. The curtains are very thin. If you sleep light this may be an issue.

If I had one bit of advice for the hotel which would make it infintiely better...it would be the curtains! The rooms lack privacy and are too bright. If this is solved then I think the property is amongst the very best we saw in Chile and Peru.

Room Tip: The family room overlooking the courtyard is by far the best!

This was a refreshing change after many mediocre b&b's we stayed in Peru. Very comfortable, cosy, with great views of Cusco. The only negative point was a bathroom on a ground floor and bedroom on the first floor. Running to the toilet during the night was an experience. Still, would very warmly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Room number 7 is a duplex, very nice but the toilet is on the ground floor and bedroom on the first...

I'm just back from a two-month six-country tour of South America, and in my memory this hotel stands out as the best: Grand views well worth the hike, immaculately clean, friendly staff that anticipates your needs. Amazing value.

stayed here for one night en route to puno in early May and wished we could have stayed there longer. we were on the way back from machu picchu and had to take a cab to the hotel, but he just dropped us off in san blas square and then we had to find the place ourselves. given that it was late, it was difficult for us to find, but a local hostel owner who saw us wandering around actually called the hotel and helped guide us to the location. definitely print out a map before going there if you're not getting picked up! also, it is located uphill from san blas square (which is already many blocks uphill from the plaza de armas), and i was quite out of breath getting there. you also have to go down a side street which is really quiet - i felt safe, but was always with my husband and would be a little wary if i was a single woman walking alone late at night, as we did run into some drunk guys on the way up after dinner.

once we arrived, it was awesome! each suite has 2 levels - the first with a very modern bathroom, kitchenette, small table, couch. the second is the bedroom with safe, TV. the linens were the best we had in Peru. tea was delivered when we arrived and breakfast (great fruit bowl, bread with butter and jam, tea, juice) was delivered to us early because we had to catch a bus in the morning. we ate in the room both times because it was dark, but would have enjoyed eating on the terrace as well. wi-fi was great everywhere. because we didn't have any complimentary airport transfers, they paid for one of our taxis to the bus station, which was nice. would definitely stay here again!!

Apart from the stairs you climb to get there, the hotel is gorgeous, in a great location overlooking Cusco, we stayed in room 9 right on the terrace, the WiFi was strong, each room had TV and dvd, separate toilet and bathroom, perfect beds, hot showers, kitchenette and full breakfast delivered. The only negative was the city tour the hotel organised for us, the tour guide was terrible, he was bored, uninformed and we were rushed through everything and expected to keep shelling out money after paying for the tour, to get into each location. I would suggest, getting a list of the sites, getting yourself there and hiring a tour guide there for 10 to 20 soles per location.

Room Tip: Room 9 was brilliant if you need two rooms

We stayed at La Morada 4 nights during our stay in Cusco and were really pleased with it. The rooms are really modern and have bathroom, small living area and kitchen downstairs and bedroom upstairs. The terrace offers an incredible view of Cusco and because our room was facing a courtyard we always had breakfast on the terrace. Breakfast was really good. When you're ready to eat you just call the front desk and they bring it to your room. The receptionist was really helpful and answered all of our questions. Just word of advice. The hotel is on the small hill which requires walking a few flight of stairs, which might be a little bit difficult for some people. Other than that it's absolutely great and very close to the main plaza, restaurants and shops.
