This hotel is high in the city of San Blas part of Cusco. It has a fantastic view, wonderful breakfast but it is a 2 story room. Not very convenient. Has hair dryers, room heater, hard bed, very uncomfortable, lots of blankets. I stayed warm in bed. I was very disappointed that they left me waiting at 9:30 at night at a bus station after I had made an arrangement to be picked up. Not good for a single woman in a foreign country. Very helpful staff. But if I was visiting Cusco again I would stay closer to town. San Blas is pretty but very high up and a ways from the action. Price was pretty expensive $75 but it was warm.

Room Tip: Just know it is 2 stories and cold at night if you get out of bed.

We booked 2 nights in La Morada in Cusco before going to Macchu Pichu and an addtional night after.
It is localed in San Blas, charming place in Cusco. Do not think the plaza de armas is far ... 4 cuadras (blocks) only.
Really Nice and helpful staff. Large rooms with a kitchen. Nice bed. Flat Tv screen and DVD choice. And breakfast in the room or on the terrace (cusco view!).

We stayed here for 3 nights after returning from Machu Picchu. Cusco is a beautiful city, a lot to explore and very friendly. You do feel very relax here.

Our room was very spacious and clean with a kitchen. The bathroom was also spacious with a large shower and has a modern feel to it. The room had had a beautiful view overseeing Cusco. Something we do not mind waking up to every morning.

Breakfast was served in our room (or you could call it in bed) which is an added bonus. All you have to do is call the reception give them 15 minutes to cook the breakfast for you.

The free WIFI had excellent connection and seems very fast.

The staffs are very helpful and speak good English.

The hotel offers free pickup from the airport but we did not need this service because we came straight from Machu Picchu. However the Hotel staff agreed to take us to the airport instead which was very nice of them since we did not use the pickup service.

The location is great, only a short walk from the main square at San Blas or 10 mins to the Plaza de Armas.

The only drawback is the steep steps to the Hotel, however if you are visit Machu Picchu and climbed Huayna Picchu then this is a walk in the park.

Overall I love this hotel somehow it has a homely feel to it than a hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a good view.

This is a good, clean hotel, with nice modern furnishings, complete with breakfast. We also got the transfer from the airport which was handy. The staff are nice and helpful as well. It is located in a very central location away from traffic.

Down side is you have to carry your luggage due to the cobblestone rd about a 100m up hill at high altitude. I also booked based on the picture with the amazing view. Trouble was I couldnt find it when I got there and was told it was only visable from the large family room. There was no balcony in our room either, so I would check before booking what your room ammenties are for that particular room. We still enjoyed our stay here though.

My husband and I booked La Morada after hours and hours of reviewing options in Cuzco. We generally avoid typical hotels for vacation rentals but we had our father in tow for his 60th birthday present so we wanted something "familiar" for his first visit out of the U.S. We stayed here for two nights before and after the Inca trail hike in the family suite. The floor plan was three stories with kitchen and bath on bottom, a room with two full beds on the 2nd floor and a queen bed with TV on the third. This set up was unique and worked wonderfully. Beds/furnishing were comfortable and appropriate. There was a small kitchen which worked well and the heated floors in/near the bathroom was a nice touch. The location was fantastic as there was a wonderful view of the city at night. Easy walking distance to the plaza with lots of food/shopping options nearby (and the gentleman who runs the stone/wood fired pizza place next door was very pleasant.) There was a hill one the way back up but, as others have mentioned, you get used to it. Staff at the La Morada were friendly and helpful. They welcomed us with tea and provided light meals every morning. An overall excellent value considering the price. We would highly recommend this location!
