We visited the hotel in our honeymoon, after having been to Machu Pichu. The hotel is in the historic part of Cusco, in a colonial building.

I strongly recommend staying here. The building transports you to a different era, and leaves you impregnated with the atmosphere of magical Cusco.

The service is ultra-friendly (waiters remember your name, etc). The food in the restaurant is delicious. We had dinner there on our first night, since we arrived late and we were tired. Delicious "lomo saltado" and fish. Great wine selection. We also explored some of Cusco's great restaurants during our stay, but decided to come back on our last night. The breakfast, on the other hand, is one of the best I have ever had.

In terms of the rooms, good quality. The only thing missing is a bathtub, but I guess it woudl be difficult in a historic building.

My husband and I were totally impressed with this hotel. We have Marriott points and we were upgraded to a suite! When we arrived, they offered us a welcome snack and we could choose wine or other beverage and the type of snack. We loved the breakfast buffet and enjoyed the attentive service. I woke up the first morning in Cusco with altitude sickness - intense nausea and couldn't get out of bed. I called the front desk and they sent up a paramedic with oxygen and after 30 minutes on O2, I was feeling much better. You have to request extra oxygen for your room and it costs extra (you could ask for 24 hrs a day or 12 hrs a day). While I still had queasiness the next couple of days and couldn't eat much, the servers in the breakfast buffet gave me a special tea - Muña and it was great for my tummy. They had Mate de Cocoa in the lobby at all hours. We were there in the beginning of the rainy season, and our room had umbrellas for us to use in Cusco - and we needed them! The architecture in the main lobby and bar areas is awesomely historical and the rooms are comfortably modern. The hotel is just a couple of blocks off of the Plaza de Armas. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I return to Cusco.

Excellent customer service. Rooms are very comfortable. Love the shower! Location is outstanding - a block away from Plaza de Armas. Free wifi in the lobby and rooms.

Food from their restaurant and breakfast buffet are just OK. But there are plenty of options nearby.

Will definitely return if I ever visit Cusco again.

I am a frequent traveler, and this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in ever! The location is ideal being just around the Plaza de Armas and rooms are what one would expect from a 5-star property. What really sets this hotel apart is both the beautiful job they did restoring a former Augustinian convent and the level of service we experienced from every single member of the staff we came across. Everyone around us seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had the best vacation. We returned to the hotel every evening (and after our trek) feeling like we were coming home as we were soon on a first name basis with a number of employees at the hotel.

We also had some of the best food in all of Peru right at the hotel. The restaurant seemed underrated as it wasn't that busy when we were there, but both food and drinks were excellent. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else the next time we return to Cuzco!

Although it is not rated number One on Trip Advisor, we think it should be. If we go back to Cuzco ( and we hope to some day), we will stay at the J.W.. Check in is seamless, the rooms are cozy, but if you do Cuzco right, you are not in them very long. We left the hotel as soon as we got there and went to explore the city. The staff could not have been more accommodating, a cab was called for us and off we went with helpful hints in hand. After a few hours of exploring we came back and were greeted like retuning family. Dinner that night was at a restaurant very close to the JW, the location of the hotel is in close proximity to several very good restaurants.
The next day we were up early for out train ride to Machu Picchu. Staff had arranged a ride to the train station and a pick up when returned. Breakfast was wonderful, our server, Manuel, could not have been nicer. The 0530 breakfast start time caters to day trippers like my wife and I. Our day trip was amazing and we retuned again and were greeted like family. We got to the room, and we were surprised to see a birthday cake waiting for us. Kudos to Marriott and to the JW in Cuzco for that special
treat.
Anyway, the next day was our date to return to Lima. We truly wanted to say several more days, that is how nice the JW and Cuzco were for us. Alas work called and we departed, but not before being further impressed by the service at breakfast and the checkout process. My hats off to this establish, net for going the extra mile to make our stay perfect.

Beautiful hotel in historic building in the center of Cusco. Rooms were modern, clean, and had numerous amenities. Bed was so comfortable we hated to leave it. Beautiful art throughout the hotel. Exceptional breakfast buffet. Staff throughout the hotel were excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. From the moment we entered the hotel, the staff made us feel welcomed and cared for. I highly recommend the JW Marriott Cusco. I looked at several hotels further out from the Plaza and was glad I settled on the Marriott. The hotel is close to everything you need to do in Cusco by foot and it's easily accessible to all the major tour pick ups. The staff here is first class and all of them addressed me by my first name, welcomed me at breakfast every morning with a pleasant greeting including discussion about what I had planned for the day, etc. The room I had viewed the "Inka Wall" which is on the lower level - not a view, but if you are looking for quiet - these rooms are completely noise free from the street. Besides, you shouldn't be staying in your hotel room in this city so I didn't care about the view. The restaurant, room service and staff are all five star. This is a very accommodating hotel with beautifully decorated rooms and superb beds. The room was supposed to have oxygen, but I didn't notice anything special about it. If you are traveling solo, you will feel really safe here and the location of the hotel is a block from the cathedral, Plaza Armas, and near several decent restaurants, Don Tomas, for example. In the lobby there is a 24 hour tea set up, so if you're having trouble with the altitude you can get coca or muña tea when you need it.
