“Not a 4* hotel, but decent value for money”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

This is a very sweet looking little hotel, with very colourful furnishings (bordering on the gaudy). We stayed with our 11 year old son for 2 nights in October 2013. We had a triple room, which was probably just a double-room with an extra bed, making it a bit cramped for 3. The beds were comfy enough, but the room could have been a bit cleaner. There was a decent electric heater, which kept it warm at nights.

The shower was hot, though there was some mould on the walls and shower curtain. There was an internal window only, which looks out into a central well in the middle of the hotel. This made the room a little dark, and also noisy in the mornings, as you can hear them laying breakfast tables at about 5am.

The rooms do have Wi-Fi, and there is a hot and cold buffet breakfast which was fine. The location is about a 12-15 minutes walk from the centre of Cusco, and next door to the Indian market. The service was OK, though not the friendliest we have seen. Nothing wrong with it, just not as welcoming as some. Little English spoken by most of the staff.

This is definitely not a 4* hotel. I would say it between a 2 and 3*. However, it is a reasonable place to stay for a couple of nights. We got an offer on Groupon, which meant we only paid about $60, which is very good value for a triple room.

In summary, could be a little cleaner, but good value and fine for a couple of nights stay.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our cycling trip in Peru. It is nicely decorated and clean with friendly staff. There was internet service with just one terminal but it seemed to be available at most times. The breakfast offering was good.
It is very convenient to the central market and of course the usual tourist sites in Cusco. It is next door to one of the greatest restaurants in Cusco La Cusquenita which has great food and entertainment.
This hotel is good value for the money. And I would stay there again.

We really enjoyed our time at Hotel Warari. Access to the hotel is easy as it is on a big two lane each side street. The hotel has parking which for us was perfect for us as driving around Cuzco is really difficult. We hadn't booked, but they had space and showed us a big comfortable room with the most massive king bed we've ever seen. Very comfortable bed. We originally thought because it was overlooking the street that it might be a bit noisy, but it was reasonably quiet at night. Big TV in the room with huge selection of cable TV channels also made the room feel very luxurious. There is also a heater which is essential as it is quite chilly in Cuzco in the winter. Nice touche also with the turn down service at night. We would come back from dinner to find a couple of Sublime chocolates on the bed, and the sheets turned down. The bathroom is nice and roomy, with continuous hot water and excellent pressure. Best shower in months! The breakfast was very average, but that is pretty much normal through Peru no matter how much you pay to stay at a place. The staff working at the hotel were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. There is also hot water and tea and coffee in the reception area which is a nice touch, as I always miss not having a cup of tea at night time. The location is great, very easy to walk to the plaza or to San Blas for dinner. We went out a couple of nights in a row and the woman who let us in in the middle of the night was always very friendly, and not at all grumpy despite being woken up! Great place, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room facing the street, next door to the breakfast area is very big and comfortable. We weren't...

I chose and booked at the Hotel Warari because of it nearness to the Mormon church and the train station (Wanchaq). That place was very nice with very elegant framed paintings. I love it. The lobby was a little bit like Bueno Aires. We sat on the couch and drank coca tea. We felt very comfortable. It's very close to the train station. We walked there, very easily.

Check in was nice and easy here. However, they do take a photocopy of your passport. I was given a really tiny room with no A/C, hair drier and a dead TV. I easily heard the bass/music in my room coming from the restaurant/bar next door. This was room 309.

I went downstairs to express my concerns and was immediately upgraded to a room with 2 double beds, a fridge and a working TV! This room did face the main road though. Rooms 307-310 are on the back side of the hotel, though next to the restaurant. Rooms 401-404 (on any level, so the same goes for 201-204) face the busy street. Traffic does die down come night time which is good, though you still get to hear the odd horn going off all times of day or night.

Breakfast is basic. I had fruit, a runny yogurt and cereal every day here. Coffee is not fresh and you have to make your own with the provided Nescafe; not nice!

On my last day here, my flight from Cusco to Lima was not until 4.45pm. I asked for a late checkout and was given it, though for a fee of $40USD. I believe I stayed in the hotel until 3pm that afternoon.

I found the staff overall helpful and friendly.

We booked this hotel through a travel agency in Lima. We had decided to go to Machu Picchu and there was not enough notice to book through a tour company, so we just booked it ourselves. (which ended up being a great time)

When our ride from the airport dropped us off, he took us to the wrong hotel. It was like half a block away so it ended up being fine.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the rooms were very nicely decorated and very clean. The bathrooms were amazing compared to our hotel in Lima, and the shower had the highest water pressure Ive seen in years. The had a breakfast which was good but was not anything special.

The water went out for a brief period of time which was kind of annoying, but not that big of an issue.

If we had known about this place beforehand, we may have spent more time in Cusco.

stayed here as part of our intrepid tour. internet and printing (through the receiption) is free, however the wifi is quite sketchy if not in the lobby. Washing was cheap at about $2/kg. about 10-15min walk from the centre of town. while it was good to stretch our legs the altitude and lack of oxygen certainly took its toll.

The rooms are big but basic. some have fridges, ours didn't. problems with toilets flushing and getting hot water. Beds too hard and not comfy, and pillows too soft and just as bad. At least there was enough blankets to keep us warm. No real natural light in some of the rooms, our window opened into a cavity that was covered by opaque corrigated plastic. the bathroom exhaust fan blew into here too.

Breakfast is included but TERRIBLE. fruit was off, eggs were gross and the milk revolting. we had to go elsewhere for this meal.

if you're on a budget and aware of the hotel limitations then its' probably OK but I wouldn't recommend it.
