Water pressure and temps inconsistent, rooms are freezing, a little further than I wanted from the main plaza de armas. The positives, the staff do all they can to make you warm and comfortable. Breakfast feels like your home kitchen, but beware, lots of carbs. It's safe enough to walk until 10pm, at times I walked alone and felt fine, but there is a lot of graffiti. Also, no elevator, hard getting luggage up and down stairs, especially on arrival with altitude difference. The staff is so very sweet and accommodating, this is not your luxury, all amenity place, cute, quaint and works for a short trip.

Even though this hotel was a bit far from the center (15 min walk), their hospitality made it worth staying there twice. From the beginning, the manager was helpful, answering all of our questions by email. Monica and her husband picked us up ay the airport, booked tickets for Machu Picchu, and reserved bus seats to Puno. Our room was well decorated and had everything we needed. Internet and shower worked fine.

It's simply impossible to list all the ways in which every member of the staff makes sure your trip is amazing. Exceptionally warm, gracious and attentive, assisting with everything from the tea, hot water bottle in your bed in the evening, to printing 24 boarding passes for the return flight – nothing you ask was too much or impossible. I have arranged for them to pick us from the airport, it was done so well we were drinking coca tea in half an hour after arrival.
The staff was unquestionably the most attentive and helpful we have ever encountered in our years of travel. Gina was the best!!!!!
The owner was helpful in the extreme. We asked for directions to colectivos to go to Pisac, she offered a minivan for all 8 of us, arranged that the driver dropped us off first at the Pisac ruins, waited for us and then dropped us of at the market giving us plenty of time for shopping and lunch and all for just a few soles more than the colectivos would cost us. Before the trip she gave us absolutely perfect advice on buying stuff (llama sweaters, silver etc.) and pricing.
Rooms are clean, nice décor and have portable heaters. We stayed 2 nights then went to Sacred Valley for few nights and returned again on our last night. We left our luggage in our rooms and were told they will move them later. When we got back we all have different rooms but our luggage was already waiting for us there.
The distance from city center is not a big deal, walk to plaza was downhill and back we took $2 cab.
As to the rooster – I loved him!!! I didn’t have any problems waking all 7 people in my group early in the morning. The rooster made me feel like I was on vacation at a farm and he was not annoying at all.
Overall I would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

The location is pretty central, and the rooms are really nice!
The staff is helpful and friendly, most speak enough English to make things easier for those who don't speak Spanish. The breakfast was wonderful and the service was good too.
For the price, an excellent choice for those visiting Machu Pichu.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a nice view of the city on the front side, not sure about those towards the back.

I didn't have high hopes for this hotel, but I left pleasantly happy. That's mainly due to the staff. After we checked in, the receptionist asked us if we wanted tea and then brought it to our room. She also provided detailed walking directions. We had an early departure and we asked if someone would be at the front desk to call us a cab at 5:45am. Not only was someone there but the cab was waiting outside for us as we walked out. We didn't even have to ask. The rooms are small but comfortable. We went out for dinner and drinks and when we came back, they had put hot water bottles under our sheets to stay warm. (It was May and it wasn't really that cold out, but it was a nice touch.)

I think the hotel must be new. The taxi driver had never heard of it and stopped to get directions. It's a little far from the center of town, but we still enjoyed walking there.

The hotel is fine, but it was the staff that really make this place stand out.

spent 2 nights here post macchu Picchu.

pros:
*friendly helpful receptionist/ night manager who was a messi lookalike.
*comfortable bed and pillow
*decor was interesting
*good value.. about 104 soles

cons:
*it's about a five minute drive from the centre of town/ plaza de arms to the hotel, and is a dodgy location
*most taxi drivers did not know the hotel
*shower pressure was extremely low and the water temp varied .. but it was fixed the next morning.
*breakfast was two rolls, butter, jam, and a juice/tea and an omelette- no cereals etc
*bathroom is a bit tight, with a glass shelf just over the sink, which is difficult to shave with,.
*only a cold water tap in the sink
*i was in the pachaya room which had a view of the unkempt backyard of the neighbors

The staff was very sweet and helpful. The room decor was unique and everything was clean. Breakfast was good. The walk to the main plaza isn't bad at all and at night, it's cheap and easy to grab a cab to get back.
