“Poor Service, WiFi, and Noisy”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

This hotel has two good attributes - a good location and a decent restaurant. However, they are both cancelled out by the Marriott around the corner which has an equally good location and an even better location. I stayed at the Novotel as part of a tour and was disappointed by the nearly non-existent WiFi. It also is very noisy and the staff was rude. They improperly processed my credit card and said it was declined. It wasn't. I spoke to my credit card company and said the charge was pending and then charged my boyfriend's card as well and so we were technically charged twice (we are disputing the other charge). When I put my credit card company on the phone with the desk clerk, she shrugged her shoulders and provided no apology. Rude. They do have a nice lobby. Stay at the Marriott around the corner (and no, I don't work for Marriott).

Room Tip: Ensure to pick a room that faces the courtyard and not the street

A small, uninspiring entrance in a narrow street, but inside opened to a large, covered courtyard with comfortable seats for meals or just relaxing. Good to use the free wi-fi while having a cup of coca tea which was on tap 24/7.
Rooms were clean, functional, motel type. The modern shower was over the bath. No plug - which seemed to be the norm on our trip.
Our included breakfast was quite good.
There is a useful little supermarket a minute or so away, and it is only a short walk to the main square where it all happens. From here there are double decker city tour buses which are worth considering for about USD 8.

After driving around so many small and busy street you do not think you are going to find such a nice hotel as this. The staff were very helpful the whole stay, very local easy to walk to city square, cafes restaurants all around this lovely city. Full of grate character very thin road very pretty as well. lots of local groceries near by water etc . and good laundry close by for people like us who had about 6 days of washing that we could not do and a good price. Local peddlers sale great nick knacks very good price. breakfast was fantastic opening very early to cater for those who have early starts to macho picchu and those that can have a lay in. great selection, well done. they also store you luggage until you get back great place to stay

Room Tip: the meals in the hotel were well priced great service and a very good meal

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights prior to our Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu and we were surprised by how good it was. We were given a cocoa tea upon arrival to help us acclimatise and the rooms were clean and spacious with all of the luxuries you would want before going on a trek.
The breakfast buffet was great with a large selection so everyone's catered for.
Would highly recommend this hotel. It's only a 5 minute walk away from the centre square!!!

I really liked this hotel. Has a nice relaxed mood, nice room size and great comfy beds. Reception and staff are very very friendly and happy to help with tour information and walkup calls. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cusco. Thanks for a great stay. Gracias :-)

Top property offering outstanding service and people. Narrow street in
front with heavy traffic can make access challanging. Staff more than
makes up for any inconviences that may be encountered and those are
few and far between.

Room Tip: Older rooms in front of Cusco property are a little noisy.
