“Great location”
Reviewed 26 April 2008

We stayed here twice in March. The first time we got two single beds for three nights. It faced the street so was terribly noisy if you're a light sleeper. It was one of the main one way streets so was used 24/7 and given it was cobblestoned, more noisy than normal.
The staff were lovely and the food for breakfast was good however we had to keep asking for them to replenish the eggs etc and often it was only luke warm!
Unfortunately I got extremely ill on the last night (before Macchu Picchu) and can only think it was either the hotel's orange juice at breakfast or out of habit, I put my toothbrush under the tap water instead of using my bottle water. Word of advice..NEVER do this in Peru. They do have a notice in the bathroom to not drink the water. Due to being sick, I was grateful for my single bed.
On our return I had asked for a matrimonial bed..double bed at the back away from the street and it was fantastic. The staff were more than obliging.
I'd definitely stay again but ensure we had a double bed and it was as far away from the main street as possible.

We stayed to two nights with our family of five. Initially, we were given a terrible room that looked like a cornered off area of the lobby. I think it was room 101. Avoid this room. While my wife was inside the room, she was talking with him while I was out on the other side of the lobby. She thought that I was in the room and I thought that she was in some corner of the lobby. Afterward, we were moved to a room on third floor that was much better from the privacy standpoint but was quite tired. Although spacious, the grout was moldy and cracked. The decor was early 80's or late 70's and fairly dingy. The staff, on the other hand, were very friendly and helpful. The location is just 2 blocks from the main plaza with a while range of nearby eating options. For the price, perhaps it was a good value but you are getting what you are paying for.

We stayed at Los Andes De America in April of this year and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cusco.

After making the initial reservation we had to change dates at the last minute. The hotel were very accommodating. They moved our reservation, fitting us in for our required dates except for one night and even then they managed to find us another hotel and they also helped us move our bags over.

The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast offered a great choice. There was a computer available for guests use and a laundry service which was convenient for us as we were there for a longer stay.

As we booked our trip independently (not part of a tour) it was great that they arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and also organised our day trips and an overnight trip to Puno.

Most importantly the staff were excellent, most spoke good English which helped us as our Spanish is limited. They were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

As part of our recent tour package to Peru, (we arrived back home this week) we were booked into the Best Western Andes de los Americas for the Cusco segment of our trip. I think we stayed three nights.
We were pleasantly suprised by the hotel, which is clean modern and inviting, and features a very good included breakfast for its guests.
Staff were exceptionally nice, and I would certainly recommend the hotel for someone who wants comfort and few surprises.

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel from December
12th to the 17th. As the other review indicates, this may not be up to the Best Western "American" standards but, surprisingly, the hotel was allright.

The hotel is a 3 star hotel that is located 2 blocks away from the main plaza (Plaza de Armas). The room we had was simple with a few ammenities. Our room had no view but, luckily no noise either.

What made our stay pleasant was the service we received from the hotel staff. The main handyman, Rucendino, made sure that all our requests were taken care of in a quick and efficient manner. The receptionists were friendly. The hotel´s restaurant staff were very nice.

In summary, this is definetely not a luxury hotel but, if you plan to stay in a clean, simple and service oriented place as you visit Cusco and Machu Picchu, I would recommend you stay here.

This hotel did not live up to the 'Best Western' brand expectation. We stayed for 5 nights - paying too much at $130 per night - and whilst the hotel was very central, it was extremely 'tired' looking and feeling. Our room did not have a window with any sort of view, bar a concrete wall 3 yards away - in fact it looked over the kitchen entrance with rubbish and associated stuff. Consequently it was also very noisy and we had to shut the window which made the room very stuffy. Also it seemed that only the hotel manager spoke English, so any sort of tourist advice or bill queries were tough to get answered and they had to get the manager on the phone.

We ate out, as the food was very uninspiring. There was no hotel bar.

Not a great choice!
