“What a beautiful place!”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

My 2 sisters and I have been traveling around Peru this month and we wanted to spoil ourselves in Cuscu with this fabulous hotel. We were supposed to be 4 so I had initially booked two double rooms. However one person did not come and it was impossible to change the double to a single online here in Peru through booking.com where I reserved all the hotels. So upon arrival I explained that we only needed one double and one single and once again like another place visited earlier they said we needed to pay for the two doubles. I explained that we were taking 2 rooms but one for two persons and one for one person. It was VERY difficult to convince them and we needed to threaten them with American Express and trip advisor to be able for them to work with us :-( After that I must say that this place is truly magnificent. For the breakfast (normally included) the waiter told us we had to pay and I said it was included. After we decided to let it go and go with the flow and when I asked for the check after we ate he said don't worry, it's on the house...

Room Tip: I always ask a room on a high floor with the head of the bed facing North, anywhere but South. Slee...

Dear Guest,
Thank you for having chosen our hotel during your last visit to Cusco
And also thank you for your comments about the property, it is always satisfying to hear the word “magnificent” when describing it. Our staff is always trying to go that extra mile when it comes to customer care and service. We must follow certain rules and regulations when it comes to reservations, however, our goal is to have satisfied customers and nothing could trouble us from doing so.
We hope that you visit us again in a very near future.
Kind Regards

This place has a really nice castle feeling and the common area is beautiful. The rooms are smaller and bathrooms are comparable to a Sheraton. The spa was small but quaint. What is great about this place is the location - so close to all the attractions you need to see in the City. It is a fabulous place to adjust to the altitude as they have oxygen masks, which we had to utilize. I do believe that helped alleviate the sickness. We had a great time staying here. Caution regarding using the travel agency -- very expensive.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property.
We appreciate your comment about our Palacio del Inka interior as you said like a castle feeling. And also the location, we are located in the heart of Cusco City, close to the main square, the museums, the archeological places like Qoricancha, “The Temple of the Sun”, the main churches of the city, just by walking distance. For the altitude sickness we provide oxygen masks and coca tea in order to alleviate the sickness. Our travel agency is a facility that provides different top class tours in Cusco, and their strength is the tailor made.
We hope you have the opportunity to return soon.
Kind regards

What a wonderful hotel! During a recent trip to Peru to hike the Inka Trail I had the pleasure of spending two nights at this hotel. I can't say enough good things about it--staff was very helpful with every possible requests, rooms were clean, location was excellent (very close to the main square) and the breakfast buffet was outstanding. When was the last time you enjoyed a harpist during breakfast? What a great touch!

I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to have the chance to stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: Given the central location there can be a bit of noise in your room if you do not face the inner cou...

We would echo all of the good reviews below, but with a couple of minor niggles. We have been lucky enough to stay in some of the top hotels in the world and for the most part, Palacio del Inka stands up well against the others.
Although the rooms appear to have air-conditioning, it is not connected! The controls are all there but the cooler doesn't ever switch on. When we complained to reception that ours was not working, we were told this was intentional. Management might argue that the mountain temperatures do not justify A/C and you can simply open a window....... fine that is until carnival month when the local brass band starts playing outside your window at 7.00am!
Also, in all the hotels I have ever stayed at, I have never before been asked to pay to use the Jacuzzi. Given that this is not a cheap hotel, I find it quite bizarre that they would expect guests to cough-up more money to use this facility. This seems rather penny-pinching to me and no wonder the spa was empty every time I looked in!

Room Tip: Use of the Jacuzzi and pool are at extra cost!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property.
We highly appreciated your comments as they will assist us in becoming better at what we do.
Your information gives us the opportunity to make necessary changes in order to improve our service. Be sure that I take note about the air conditioning. Your experience falls way below our standard. In regards to our Spa, it is an additional service that it is not included in the room rate.
However we have good promotion for our guests.
We will be pleased to serve you again in the future, and have the opportunity to change the perception that you have about our property.
Kind Regards

This very conveniently located hotel is beautiful. Our room was a touch smaller and darker than I would have liked but other than this minor point, can't fault it. The decor is beautiful, the staff very friendly and helpful, the food was very good both at breakfast and in the evening. It is so centrally located that everything is just a short walk away. Beautiful.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed in peru. I enjoyed staying here more than the orient express hotel. The location of the hotel was great. We were greeted with the special cocao leave tea and introduced to the manager and surroundings of the hotel. Our room was on the 4th floor and it was a beautiful room, although a tad small but considering we were there for a hike it wasn't a big concern. The food was great. The spa was good, the massage wasn't as great but the amenities were good.

We spent two nights in the Libertador with our VBT Group at the beginning and end of our tour. The hotel is well located, and easy walk from restaurants and the important sites of the city. The hotel is very well appointed throughout with spacious and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet is ample and delicious. The service was friendly and helpful. It is the perfect place to acclimate to the altitude of over 10,000 feet and also to wind down from our hike to Machu Picchu. We recommend this excellent hotel for your stay in Cusco.
