We stayed for a couple of nights in March. As someone who has travelled extensively and often I would have to say this is without doubt one of the best Hotels I've stayed. Clearly not cheap;if your looking for a budget hotel-look elsewhere but for us our 2 night stay was worth every cent. From the moment our taxi had stopped outside the reception area it was clear this was no ordinary hotel; 3 porters clad in suits had our doors open before our driver had stopped the engine, the other was already attending to our rather hefty suitcases.
The interior of the hotel is exquisite, a former monastery with enormous high ceilings and walls several feet thick. Our room faced one of the 2 courtyards in the hotel, was superbly airconditioned, very spacious with a nice king size bed. Breakfast in the hotel was a magnificent buffet catering for every possible taste and appetite.
Gregorian chants at just the right sound level issue through the hallways and public areas in the mornings, adding to the ambience of this wonderful place.
This is truly one of the great hotels of the world.More
