Magnifecent Monastery at sky's high altitude.
Fabulous 400 yr old building with modern accommodations even oxygen infusion availability in some rooms.
Excellent staff service, food and beverage creative presentation. They will add to a Magical trip to Cuzco, Machu Picchu and it's surroundings.
Do not think twice about staying here.
Great jewelry Store and Andean-Peruvian crafts available from a native lady and her baby.

It was a beautiful hotel with wonderful employees that helped out my husband when he got sick. We just weren't there long enough to explore and really enjoy the facility. Tough the breakfast buffet was very good.

This is a fantastic hotel but sadly we were only there for one night. The history of the buildings alone would be worth spending a few days soaking up and it is a short walk to the cathedral and other attractions. We arrived on the Harem Bingham, stayed here overnight, had a super breakfast included in our room rate, did a morning tour of Cusco, had a nice lunch back at the hotel and finally flew out to Lima in the afternoon. The bed was very comfortable and similar to other Orient Express beds. The bathroom was not completely modern but we could forgive that for the overall atmosphere of the delightful quadrangled surroundings.

This hotel in central Cusco was an old monastery but we did not live like monks -- far from it! It was interesting to imagine the old monks walking in the courtyards and porticoes. The dining room must have been the old monks' great hall, but we dined on exquisite food while we listened to an operatic serenade. We imagined our suite must have been three cells the monks once lived in -- instead we had a sleeping room, a bath room, and a sitting/dressing room. We were within walking distance of interesting Cusco sights.

I know that this hotel has been cited as the best hotel in South America, and while it is very, very nice (unique architecture, beautiful courtyard and common areas) and the location is excellent, I have a hard time rating it five stars because the rooms are so small. Don't misunderstand me - the rooms are nice and clean, and the hotel does the best it possibly can, but the rooms simply do not measure up to what I think of as a five star hotel. The room was also hot, and the thermostat seemed to be for show. The "opera dinner" at the hotel restaurant was entertaining, and the food was excellent.

This hotel in the centre of Cuzco is very good. We spent two nights there as part of a holiday extension with Celebrity Cruises. The staff were friendly, although there wasn’t always enough of them to prevent queues at reception. Our room was not as large as we had expected, it was hot so that we had to sleep with the windows open, and had a view that consisted solely of other room’s balconies. We had an excellent dinner (Opera Dinner) that is run at least twice a week. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the deserts were made a special event by having the chef doing a display kitchen making up the deserts.
Unfortunately the breakfast restaurant was not so efficient. We had one breakfast with no issues. BUT our departure day, we arrived in the restaurant in plenty of time. The staff took their time taking our cooked order after several calls for them to serve us, then we had a long wait. Other customer who had come in after us were served and left. We kept calling the waiters over to find out why the delay, but they just said “it will be soon”. It never materialised. After being in the restaurant for over an hour, we had to leave without having had our breakfast as our tour was about to leave. An unpleasant end to our stay.

We spent 4 nights here (2 on our own and 2 with Backroads on a Machu Picchu trip) and had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located a short walk from the Plaza de Armas.. We were originally placed in a rather small room (all rooms are different sizes and configurations) and arequested to be moved to a larger one, and were moved promptly. The staff was wonderful, especially Christopher Mendoza, the Concierge Manager. Loads of great restaurants and museums nearby. We liked everything about this great hotel.
